Palmetto State Baseball team of the week March 5-11: USC Salkehatchie

USC Salkehatchie (4-0 for the week)
(went 4-0 vs. USC Lancaster)

USC Salkehatchie traditionally has found itself looking up at most of the other teams in the NJCAA Region 10 standings. I started this blog prior to the 2009 season. My research shows the Indians haven't had a winning record in region play in the nine season for which I have records and have reached double figures in league wins just twice.

The Indians won five region games each of the last two seasons and won eight in the two seasons before that.

That's what makes this weekend's feat no small accomplishment. Coach Bubba Dorman's team swept USC Lancaster in a four-game series to open Region 10 play.

Five more series remain in the region schedule, but it's quite a nice start for USC Salkehatchie.
