Palmetto State Baseball team of the week March 12-18: Morris

Morris (1-1 for the week)
(went 1-1 vs. Voorhees)

Going .500 for a week isn't that big a deal for most schools. But for Morris, it meant something other than all goose eggs for the first time in almost four years.

The Hornets don't play any baseball games until after basketball season is over because Clarence Houck coaches both teams.

On Wednesday, they opened the 2018 season with a 9-2 victory over Voorhees in the first game of a doubleheader. That snapped a 45-game losing streak dating to April 8, 2014. It also was the first win for Morris at Riley Field in Sumter since March 27, 2014.
