Wrapping up Saturday in S.C. college baseball, March 24

Coastal Carolina (19-7, 6-0) remained perfect in Sun Belt Conference play with victories of 11-3 and 7-3 over Texas State on Saturday in Conway.

Lee Sponseller drove in four runs, Kevin Woodall Jr.  drove in three and four teammates had two hits apiece in the opener. Three Chanticleers made six hits count and combined to strike out 12 in Game 2.

Elsewhere:
* College of  Charleston (19-6, 3-0) completed a Colonial Athletic Association series sweep of William & Mary with wins of 8-7 and 7-2 on Saturday. Dupree Hart had three hits and Ari Sechopoulos homered in the opener. Hart and Bradley Dixon had three hits apiece in Game 2.

* Winthrop (12-13, 6-0) wrapped up a Big South Conference sweep of Campbell with a 15-7 victory. Grant English went 5-for-5 with 5 RBIs for the Eagles.

* Clemson's game at Louisville was rained out. They will attempt to play a doubleheader on Sunday.

* Georgia (17-6, 4-1) hammered South Carolina (13-10, 1-4) by a score to clinch a series win for the fifth consecutive season.  Carlos Cortes, Jacob Olson and Hunter Taylor homered for the Gamecocks. Taylor and Noah Campbell had two hits apiece.

* Kevin Hickey pitched a six-hitter and struck out five as USC Upstate (12-11-1) beat Dayton, 8-0, to clinch a series victory at Cleveland S. Harley Park. Kyle Gensler had three hits and Austin Morgan singled and homered for the Spartans.

* William Kinney doubled, homered and drove in three runs as The Citadel (11-12, 2-1) beat Western Carolina (3-19, 1-2) in Game 2 of a Southern Conference doubleheader, 9-3, to take a series victory. The Bulldogs lost Game 1, 8-5.

* Adam Scott held Mercer (19-5, 2-0) to three hits over 7 1/3 innings, but the Bears beat Wofford (15-9, 0-2) for the second straight day, 3-2,  to clinch a Southern Conference  series victory in Macon. The Terriers scored a run in the ninth and had two runner on base when the game ended. McClain Bradley had two hits for Wofford.

* A.J. Priaulx had a double among his four hits and drove in four runs as Presbyterian (7-18, 2-1) clinched a Big South Conference series victory with a 9-2 win over Charleston Southern (8-17, 1-2) in the opener of a doubleheader. Mike Sconzo had two hits as the Buccaneers salvaged a split, 4-2, in the finale.

* No. 26 Wichita State rapped out 17 hits and beat Furman (13-10) for the second straight day, 14-3. The Shockers roughed up Furman starter Grant Schuermann for eight runs on 11 hits in four innings. Jake Crawford singled and drove in two runs for the Paladins.

* USC Aiken (19-9, 10-4) clinched a Peach Belt Conference series win by beating No. 9 Columbus State (22-4, 8-2) for the second straight day, 5-2.

* North Greenville (27-5, 13-2) rolled to a cruised to a doubleheader sweep of Southern Wesleyan (12-20, 1-14). Utah Jones was 4-for-4 in the opener, an 11-1 romp. The Crusaders took Game 2, 9-2, as Josh Black and four hits. Ryan Brown had two hits in each game. Andrew Falgiano had four hits for the Warriors, who have lost 12 straight.

* Erskine (22-9) got a pair of walk-off wins over Georgia Southwestern, Drew Yniesta doubled in the winning run in the seventh inning of a 3-2 victory in the opener. The Flying Fleet won the nightcap, 7-6, in 10 innings as Austin Mapes homered.

* Newberry (16-14, 9-6) completed a South Atlantic Conference series sweep of Coker (11-17, 1-14) with wins of 12-1 and 3-2. Ben Herring and Tyler White has three hits apiece and Derek Olenchuk homered in the opener. Olenchuk drove in the go-ahead run in the sixth inning of the nightcap. Connor Cleary had two hits in each game for the Cobras.

* Zack Moore singled in Kyle Jenkins in the bottom of the 10th inning to give Lander (9-18, 3-11) a 5-4 victory over Francis Marion (12-18, 5-12) to clinch a Peach Belt Conference series win. Jenkins, Conner Davis and Mike Fitschen had two hits apiece for Lander. Pete Jackson had three hits for the Patriots.

* Matt Orth struck out six in five innings and drove in two runs as Limestone (14-15, 6-6) completed a Conference Carolinas sweep at Barton (9-14, 1-11) with a 9-3 victory. Orth had homered in the first two games of the series on Friday. Trace Whetsell had three hits for the Saints.

*Claflin (8-20, 4-1) stretched its SIAC winning streak to four games with a 13-9 win over Morehouse (10-17, 1-4) to open a doubleheader before losing the second game, 9-7.

* Voorhees (4-9) got a series victory over Concordia Selma with an 11-10 squeaker.

* Spartanburg Methodist (17-15, 6-4) took a pair of five-inning 11-1 victories over USC Union (5-17, 0-10) at the Timken Sports Complex.  Combined with splits in the other two NJCAA Region 10 games, the Pioneers gained ground on the other six teams. A seven-run second got the Pioneers rolling in Game 1. Canaan Silver pitched a three-hitter, allowing one unearned run. The Pioneers scored six runs in the first to take charge in Game 2. John Miller had four hits in Game 1 and two more in Game 2.  Steve Joyner had two hits in Game 1 for the Bantams.

* Florence-Darlington Tech (23-9, 5-1) split a Region 10 doubleheader with USC Sumter (23-9, 8-2), winning the opener 8-2 and losing Game 2, 7-2. Dax had two singles and a three-run homer in FD Tech's victory.

* USC Salkehatchie (18-16, 6-4) split a doubleheader at Louisburg, winning the opener 3-1 and dropping the nightcap, 6-4. Morgan Hyde had five hits in the twinbill for the Indians.

* USC Lancaster (14-12) swept Queens, 4-3, and 6-3, at Doomsday Corner. Nick Cicci's homer in the bottom of the seventh ended Game 1.
