Hunter Taylor doubled twice, homered, walked and drove in five runs for USC. Justin Row had four hits, Jacob Olson doubled twice and Jonah Bride and L.T. Tolbert also homered for the Gamecocks.
Morris allowed three hits, including a solo homer to Trey Dawson. Sawyer Bridges get a three-inning save, allowing a hit and striking out two.
The Gamecocks go for a series win at 2 p.m. Sunday on ESPNU.

Clemson (23-7, 8-5) stranded 10 runners over the final four innings in suffering a 5-2 loss to Notre Dame (13-16, 5-8) in chilly conditions in their opener of an ACC series in South Bend.
The Fighting Irish scored two runs in the bottom of the first inning and never trailed.
Grayson Byrd walked, singled and homered for the Tigers, who fell 1 1/2 games behind N.C. State (24-6, 10-4) in the Atlantic Division standings. Seth Beer also had two hits and a walk. The teams are scheduled to complete the series with a Sunday doubleheader beginning at 11 a.m.
* Keaton Weisz hit a grand slam, his first career home run, as Coastal Carolina (22-11, 9-2) snapped a three-game losing streak with a 14-7 win over South Alabama (17-12, 7-3) to even the Sun Belt Confererence series at 1-1. The result assures the Chanticleers of remaining in first place in the East Division no matter the result of Sunday's game, which now has an 11 a.m. start.
* Nick Wise hit two grand slams as Presbyterian (12-21, 6-5) clinched a Big South Conference series win over UNC Asheville (8-22, 4-7) with a 13-2 victory. Thatcher Coleman and Jonathan White added four hits apiece for PC, which has won three straight. Four pitchers checked the host Bulldogs on five hits.
* North Greenville (31-6, 15-3, had a 14-game winning streak snapped with its 6-5 loss to Mount Olive (26-10-1, 14-4), but the Crusaders won the series 2-1 and have sole possession of first place in the Carolinas Conference. Belmont Abbey (30-7, 14-3) trails by a half-game and Mount Olive is a game back.
* Daulton Weeks' grand slam highlighted a nine-run second inning as USC Aiken (23-13, 14-6) crushed Augusta (11-26, 7-19) by a 15-1 score to claim a Peach Belt Conference series win. Weeks, Conner Durden and Phillip Watcher had three hits apiece and Watcher matched Weeks with four RBIs. USCA had 20 hits. Pacers pitcher Mitch Spence allowed five hits, walked one, struck out nine and didn't allow an earned run in seven innings.
* USC Beaufort (17-21) picked up a doubleheader sweep of the College of St. Joseph with a pair of one-run victories. The Sand Sharks, won the opener, 7-6, by scoring two runs in the fifth and two more in the sixth. The comeback was even more dramatic in the 13-12 decision in the nightcap of the nonconference matchup. USCB fell being 8-1 after 2 1/2 inings and trailed 11-3 midway through the sixth. Beaufort scored six runs in the sixth, but St. Joseph pushed the lead back to 12-9 heading to the bottom of the seventh. The hosts responded with four runs, capped by Kelvin Brito's two-run single to end it.
* USC Sumter (27-14, 13-5) and USC Salkehatchie (20-21, 8-5) split a doubleheader in the only action involving NJCAA Region 10 teams. The Fire Ants won the opener in eight innings, 2-1. Blake Robinson struck out 11 batters in 7 1/3 innings for USC Sumter, which scored two unearned runs. The host Indians rebounded to take the second game, 6-2 . Cade Brown led the way with a double and three RBIs. Morgan Hyde, a recent commitment to Coastal Carolina, added two doubles. The net result was no position change in the Region 10 standings. The USC Union at Louisburg and Florence-Darlington Tech at USC Lancaster doubleheaders were canceled by rain. There are three Region 10 twinbills set for Sunday,
* Two games were suspended because of weather and will be completed Sunday prior to regularly scheduled games. Winthrop leads Gardner-Webb 6-3 in the bottom of the ninth and USC Upstate trails North Florida, 12-2, in the top of the fifth.
* Furman's game at Mercer and College of Charleston's home game with James Madison were rained outing, forcing a Sunday doubleheader.
