Clemson (25-7, 10-5) got an effective blend of efficient hitting and pitching to sweep an ACC doubleheader from Notre Dame (13-18, 5-10) on Sunday in South Bend by scores of 6-3 and 5-2.
Brooks Crawford scattered five hits and one run over seven innings in the opener. The Tigers got back-to-back home runs from Jordan Greene and Kier Meredith in the third inning and were never headed. Meredith, a freshman from Winston-Salem didn't play in Clemson's first 29 games but went 4-for-10 in three starts against the Irish.
In Game 2, Jake Higginbotham allowed five hits over five innings and Travis Marr and Ryley Gilliam shut out the Fighting Irish on two hits over the final four innings. Chris Williams had two hits and drove in two runs for Clemson,
The Tigers totaled 15 hits for the day.
Clemson, a game behind N.C. State (25-6, 11-4) in the Atlantic Division standings midway through the league schedule, faces Georgia Tuesday night at SRP Park in North Augusta.

* Coastal Carolina (23-11, 10-2) took the rubber game of a home series with Sun Belt Conference East Division rival South Carolina (17-13, 7-4) with a 12-0 victory in a game halted after seven innings because of the league's run rule for getaway days. Zack Hopeck pitched a three-hit complete game and struck out seven. Zach Biermann had three hits and Kevin Woodall Jr. and Cameron Pearcey drove in two runs apiece for the Chanticleers.
* College of Charleston (25-9, 7-2) completed a Colonial Athletic Association series sweep of James Madison (15-15, 2-7) with a pair of walk-off victories. Danny Wondrack singled in Joey Mundy in the eighth inning for a 2-1 win in the opener. Luke Morgan had three hits and Griffin McLarty (9) and Nathan Ocker (7) combined to strike out 16 Dukes in a three-hitter. The Cougars scored an unearned run in the bottom of the ninth of Game 2, a 3-2 win. Charleston was outhit 7-4, but got 11 more strikeouts in the nightcap.
* Furman (16-16, 2-4) got more power production from freshman Jared Mihalik in a doubleheader split with Southern Conference foe Mercer (26-8, 5-3). Mihalik singled, homered and drove in three runs in a 7-6 victory in Game 1. Mercer scored four runs in the ninth and had the potential winning run at second before Jake Crawford got the final out. The win clinched the Paladins' first regular-season series win over the Bears since Mercer joined the SoCon in 2014-15. Mihalik homered again in Game 2, a 3-2 loss. It was Mihalik's fourth straight game with a homer, tying Chris Ohmstede's school record set in 2015. Mercer's R.J. Yeager ended the game with a home run.
* Winthrop (15-18, 8-4) suffered a frustrating loss in Game 1, but bounced back with a 10-5 win at Gardner-Webb (19-15, 6-6) to avoid a Big South Conference series sweep. The host Bulldogs scored four runs in the bottom of the ninth after play resumed to win the completion of Saturday's suspended game, 7-6. Winthrop had a 6-3 lead when play was halted by Saturday's wet conditions. Mitch Spires had three hits and drove in four runs in the Eagles' win. He also had two hits in the loss.
* Wofford (22-11) had a three-run lead midway through the game but UNC Wilmington (20-11) scored a run in the eighth and another in the ninth to foil the Terriers' bid for a nonconference road sweep. Colin Davis had a two-run homer for Wofford.
* South Carolina (18-14, 5-7) had its second miserable pitching effort of the weekend in a 10-5 loss at Kentucky (22-10, 5-7) in the decisive game of the Gamecocks' final SEC series at Cliff Hagan Stadium. The Wildcats twice hit back-to-back home runs. The Gamecocks were behind 5-3 and had runners on second and third when Wildcats shortstop denied Chris Cullen of a single with a diving stop and throw to first to end the sixth. UK then scored four runs in the bottom of the inning to take control. Riley Hogan had two hits, Carlos Cortes homered and Jonah Bride extended his hitting streak to 11 games.
* Limestone (17-20, 9-9) clinched a spot in the Conference Carolinas Tournament for the first time since 2014 with a 7-4 victory to cap a series sweep of Southern Wesleyan (14-27, 3-18). Chase Allen became to third player in Saints history - and first since 1997 - to reach 20 home runs in a season. He also extended his school record in career homers to 41.
* USC Aiken (24-13, 15-6) completed a three-game sweep of Augusta (11-27, 7-20) with a 6-0 victory in Peach Belt Conference action. Christian Aragon struck out nine in eight innings and Daulton Weeks had three hits and drove in two runs for the Pacers.
* Coker (13-21, 3-18) surrendered a 12-2 lead but scored two runs in the bottom of the ninth to beat Lincoln Memorial (24-16, 10-11), 14-13, in Game 1 before being shut out in Game 2 of the South Atlantic Conference series, 6-0. Larry McCabe drove in four runs and Connor Cleary had three hits before Brooks Estrada's bases-loaded walk ended the opener.
* Elsewhere in the Pee Dee region, Francis Marion (14-25, 6-18) used an eight-run eighth inning to beat UNC Pembroke (26-10, 10-10) in the opener, 14-8, before losing Game 2, 8-4.
* Anderson (15-23, 8-13) got a South Atlantic Conference series win over Wingate (30-11, 14-7) with a doubleheader split at Anderson Memorial Stadium. Wingate won Game 1, 13-2, but a five run fifth in the nightcap was enough for a 5-4 win for the Trojans.
* There wasn't much movement in the NJCAA Region 10 standings after Sunday's action. Florence-Darlington Tech (31-11, 11-3) and USC Sumter (28-15, 14-6) remained in a virtual tie for first place after both split road doubleheaders. The Stingers dropped Game 1 to USC Lancaster (17-16, 4-10) by a 4-3 score before romping in Game 2, 17-10. Sumter was a 3-2 loser at USC Salkehatchie (21-22, 9-7) in their first game before winning the second game, 6-2. Louisburg (23-15, 8-6) was the only Region 10 team to gain ground. The Hurricanes moved into third place, percentage points ahead of Salkehatchie, after a 12-1, 13-3 sweep of USC Union (10-21, 2-14)
