State schedule, Jan. 28-Feb. 3

The majority of state teams not competing at the NCAA Division I level begin their seasons this week.

One of the top events will be a Division II event at George Steinbrenner Field, with four teams in Collegiate Baseball's preaseason rankings competing: No. 2 Tampa, No. 9 North Greenville, No. 19 Mount Olive and No. 23 St. Leo.

Francis Marion is hosting a round-robin event with Claflin and Southern Wesleyan.

Other teams playing at home this weekend include  Anderson, Florence-Darlington Tech, Limestone, Spartanburg Methodist, USC Aiken, USC Beaufort and Voorhees.

Coker, Erskine, Newberry, USC Lancaster and USC Sumter open with road series.
