Aaron Fitt of D1Baseball.com reports Coastal Carolina center fielder Parker Chavers is expected to be sidelined for several weeks with an injury suffered Saturday during the Seattle Baseball Showcase.

Fitt Tweeted that Chants coach Gary Gilmore said Chavers caught his spike on a dugout step, fell and  and separated his shoulder.  A MRI was pending at the time of Fitt's report, but he said Gilmore expected Chavers to miss at least a month. Coastal has not provided further updates.

Chavers did not play in the final two games at Seattle. Kieton Rivers moved from right field to center field to replace Chavers and Jake Wright took over in right field.

Chavers, a sophomore from Montgomery, Ala., is leading the Chanticleers in hitting (.389) and homers (5) and shares the team lead in RBIs (21).
