Longtime Coastal Carolina coach Gary Gilmore will be undergoing medical tests in the coming days because of health concerns, The Sun-News in Myrtle Beach reports.

The newspaper said doctors are concerned a large mass on Gilmore's liver may be cancerous. I'm using the Sun-News report because I couldn't find an official statement on Coastal's athletics site as of 9 p.m. Saturday.

GIlmore has won 963 games at Coastal after winning 253 at USC Aiken. He guided the Chanticleers to the 2016 College World Series championship.
