Anderson (7-6)

Troj-antics: Sunday's shutout of Coker was the team's second of the season and stopped a four-game losing streak ... Anderson has a .319 team batting average, but has committed 28 errors in 13 games ... Gray Wells is hitting .404, while Kye Andress has 16 RBI in 13 games ... Ben Smith has a 2-2 record and 1.57 ERA in four starts covering 23 innings.

Benedict (3-3)

Bene-feats: The Tigers are 48-for-51 in stolen bases after swiping 30 in the Tuskegee series. Isaiah Canty is 13-for-13 ... Jacob Hall and Jamell Mitchell Jr. share the team lead in batting average at .538 (7-for-13). Close behind are Jayden Jones (.500) and Justin Murray (.476).

Bob Jones (1-9)

Bru-insights: A .303 team batting average sounds pretty good, but BJU's opponents are hitting .362. That, and a 10.17 ERA, offer a convincing case for a 1-9 record ... Riley Ramsey (.455), Evan Walker (.448) and J.C Poe (.395) lead the offense ... Coach Brent Casteel has been tinkering with lineups to find the right combination. No player has started more than seven games, although four have played in all 10 ... Pitchers have allowed 114 hits and walked 78 in 74 1/3 innings.

Charleston Southern (4-3)

Buc blasts:  Cade Conway had hits in 10 consecutive at-bats last week and leads the team with a .533 average. He's batting .640 (16-for-25) since going 0-for-5 in the season opener. He's also 7-for-7 in steals ... Starting pitchers Evan Truitt (2-0, 2.53) and Anthony Ramirez (1-0, 2.57) have been solid ... The defense has committed 18 errors in seven games.

Claflin (1-12)

Claf-lines: The Panthers' streak of double-figures scoring by opponents ended at eight with a 6-1 loss in the series finale against Bluefield State, but the team losing streak hit 11 ... An eight-run seventh in Saturday's opener pulled Claflin within 19-18, but the Big Blue added two in the ninth and kept the Panthers off the board ... Kobe Miller (.395) has worked his way atop the team batting average. He's also 11-for-11 in stolen bases ... Claflin has been outhomered 10-0 ... The defense has committed 28 errors in 13 games, leading to 36 unearned runs ... Roman Woods-Golston  has struck out out 20 in 22 1/3 innings.

Clemson (6-1)

Tiger tales: With a. 517 batting average and .576 on-base percentage, leadoff batter Cam Cannarella is doing a fine job of table-setting for the offense. But the thing is, he's not even the team leader in OBP.  Alden Mathes and Jimmy Obertop are both at .594 thanks to 10 walks apiece ... Former Furman and Wofford player Matthew Marchal has struck out nine in 5 1/3 innings. Rob Hughes, another player who had the rug pulled from under him when Furman dropped baseball, has Clemson's only save.

Coastal Carolina (5-2)

Chanti-sphere: Scoring 54 runs in three games can do marvelous things for a team's offense. Coastal hit .400 as a team last weekend, improving the team average to. 324. Five players are hitting .375 or better and six are averaging more than an RBI per game. Jake Books leads the way at .500 with 13 RBI ... Zack Beach has hit four of the team's 11 homers ... Alexander Meckley struck out eight in seven innings against Ball State and lowered his ERA to. 3.18 ... Reliever Cameron Flukey has struck out 10 in four innings.

Coker (9-5)

Snake strikes: A series win over Anderson boosted Coker's South Atlantic Conference record to 5-1 ... The shutout loss on Sunday was the Cobras' first home loss after eight wins ... Coker has stolen 58 bases in 68 attempts, with seven players having five or more ... Benjamin Blackwell has struck out 14 and not allowed a run in 11.1 innings covering three appearances ... Aaron Diaz (2-0) has a 1.61 ERA.

College of Charleston (7-0)

Cougar curves: The staff ERA is 1.86, including a 0.68 mark from weekend starters Aidan Hunter (1-0, 0.00), Connor Campbell (2-0, 0.66) and Jake Brink (2-0, 0.75) ... Emmett Bice, who has two wins out of the bullpen, has struck out 10 in 6 2/3 innings ...  Kevin Madden's team-leading .519 batting average is more than 100 points higher than second-place Tyler Sorrentino.

Columbia International (3-13)

Ram-egrams: James Lovera is batting .385 with team highs in runs (18), RBI (15) and stolen bases (10-for-10). He has hit safely in 13 of his last 14 games ... Shane Hammonds was 4-for-10 with a homer and six RBI in the weekend series with Tennessee Wesleyan ... Rams pitchers have allowed 21 homers in 16 games. 

Erskine (7-9)

Fleet filberts: After scoring 108 runs in their first 12 games, the Flying Fleet totaled 12 in four losses last week. Erskine hit .188 for the week, including .178 in three weekend Conference Carolinas losses at nationally ranked Young Harris ... Even red-hot leadoff hitter Josean Sanchez wasn't immune. He went 2-for-12, dropping his average below .400 to .397 - still very nice ... Pitchers had gone eight games without allowing a home run before surrendering three last week.

Florence-Darlington Tech (13-5)

Stinger zingers: Tech hasna .316 team batting average and has 44 stolen bases in 18 games. Rom Kellis is batting .404 with 4 homers and a team-high 22 RBI. Although Devin Mitchell has just 8 RBI, he shares the homer lead with Kellis ... Marcus Locklear has a 3-0 record and a 2.63 ERA.

Francis Marion (9-4)

Patriot-ics: Zack Summerville leads FMU with a .462 batting average and has driven in 18 runs in 13 games ... Chas DeBruhl (2-0) has a 0.47 ERA, having allowed one earned run in 19 innings over four starts.

Lander (11-4)

Lander liners: Connor Droze has nine of the Bearcats 16 home runs... Lander is averaging nine runs per game ... Chris Manriquez has raised his batting average to .279 while going 8-for-20 in a five-game hitting streak.

Limestone (9-6)

Halo happenings: The Saints scored 52 runs in four wins last week. Four homers in Game 1 on Saturday gave Limestone 12 for the season ... Winston Parke is the only player to have started all 15 games. He has scored a team-high 20 runs ... Colt Wilkins' six shutout innings against Emory & Henry lowered hits ERA to 2.45.

Morris (3-4)

Hornet heaters: Tijawan Black had three hits - including two doubles - and stole three bases in last week's doubleheader split with Voorhees ... Guillermo Morel allowed two earned runs in getting the Morris win.

Newberry (4-10)

Wolf howls: Kade Faircloth hit the Wolves' first homer in the season in Saturday's  Game 1 at Carson-Newman. Opponents have hit 17 ... Hunter French pitched the staff's first complete game of the season and allowed one earned run, but was the loser in Saturday's nightcap ... Donovan Ford has scored 17 of Newberry's 75 runs.

North Greenville (13-2)

Crusader capers: David Lewis hit four homers and drove in 10 runs last week. He leads the team in the triple crown categories at .444, 8, 29 ... Thomas Powell is 11-for-15 in his last four games ... Reece Fields (4-0, 1.04) has struck out 33 in 26 innings ... NGU pitchers are striking out 10.6 batters per nine innings.

Presbyterian (5-3)

Kilt kernels: After homering in PC's first four games, Joel Dragoo added his team-high fifth last week. He has 20 RBI and a .560 batting average ... Brody Fahr leads the lead with a .636 mark. Daniel Eagen has a 1.86 ERA and 19 strikeouts in 9 2/3 innings. The staff has 96 Ks in 66 innings, including 17 in 11 1/3 by Charlie McDaniel and 14 in 10 by Fenix DiGiacomo.

South Carolina (7-1)

Fowl fare: Dylan Brewer leads the Gamecocks with a .560 batting average. He is the only USC batter with 10 or more hits (14). Brewer shares the team RBI lead (10) with Cole Messina and Will Tippett, with the latter's production coming in spite of a .143 batting average ... Carolina is 5-for-5 in stolen bases. Opponents yet to attempt a steal ... Matthew Becker has struck out 10 in five innings. The staff has 77 strikeouts in 66 innings and has allowed a .167 opponents' batting average.
 

Southern Wesleyan (3-12)

Southern cooking: While he has a .216 batting average, Jarrett Whitley has a .516 slugging percentage. Five of his eight hits have been for extra bases (2 doubles, 3 homers) ... Even after batting .276 in the Chowan series, the Warriors have a .199 team batting average ... Bryce Metts has 12 strikeouts and has not allowed a run in eight innings covering five appearances.

Spartanburg Methodist (13-3)

Pioneer pearls: Four wins in the friendly confines of Mooneyham Field over the weekend moved SMC's home record to 12-1 ... Blake Martin is batting .563  to lead the team, which has a .351 mark ... Hunter Fryzowicz (.457), Schley Gordy (.423, 20 runs), Brooks Mauro (.391, 19 RBI), Kai Tullis (.371), Ethan Wilson (.344, 3 HR, 22 RBI) and Brandon Phillips (.310, 2 HR) have all had big moments on offense ... Pitchers have struck out 139 in 109 innings ... Davis Wright (3-0, 1.71) has fanned 29 in 21 innings. Owen Austin has 24 in 14 and Kemper Nix has 24 in 16.

The Citadel (6-1)

Bulldog bombs: Five regulars are hitting .417 or better to pace a .355 team batting average. Three of them - Javier Crespo, Travis Lott and  Sawyer Reeves - share the RBI lead with 12 ... The Bulldogs have made three errors in seven games ... Landon Slemp has won both starts and has a 0.75 ERA.

USC Aiken (3-10)

Pacer patter:  USCA  hit .218 in being swept by No. 1 Tampa. The staff ERA, conversely, was 8.67 ... Bradley White II hit. 400 and Capers Molinaroli hit .375 and Dalton Graves hit .300. The rest of the team hit .151. 

USC Beaufort (4-9)

Shark bites: The Sand Sharks had the lead in all three games against Shepherd, but it slipped away each time ... Carson Phillips (.351) was 5-for-15 in the series and is batting .429 during a six-game hitting streak ... Brian Meyer was a .349 hitter over his first three seasons, but has struggled this year. He was 4-9 on the weekend, marking the first time he has hit safely more than one consecutive game. That raised his batting average to .216.

USC Lancaster (13-4)

Lancer-lots: Joe Sperry is batting .538 with 9 homers, 24 runs scored and 30 RBI. His teammates have eight homers - all by different players. Sperry also has a 2-0 record, a 3.00 ERA and 24 strikeouts in 18 innings ... Eddie Olmeda is batting .450 with 23 runs scored. He is 10-for-10 in steals.

USC Salkehatchie (2-12)

Indian items: A modest .261 batting average in the weekend games improved the team batting average to .225 ... Saturday's shutout loss was the first of the season.

USC Sumter (10-8)

Ant hills: The Fire Ants hit .319 in going 5-0 last week ... Sumter is 37-for-43 in stolen bases, led by Tristan Tillman's 10-for-12 effort ... Seth Kirby is batting .400 since since working is way into the lineup. J.T. Popick is batting .344 with 18 rus scored and 13 RBI ... Josh Keen (3-1, 2.70) has 28 strikeouts in 20 innings.

USC Union (10-3)

Bantam bits: Union had a nine-game winning streak snapped in the middle game of its series win with Mott ... The Bantams have a .343 team batting average. Brayden Corn, Jordan Fricks and Tyler Strickland share the team lead in homers with three. Fricks and Strickland have 15 RBI apiece ... Corn has a team-high eight of Union's 34 stolen bases ... Fricks also has a win, a a save and a 1.58 ERA in three appearances ... Mason Stepp has two saves and struck out six in three scoreless innings.

USC Upstate (4-3)

Uppercuts: In Sunday's 21-5 win over St. Joseph, Jace Rinehart became the first player in the program's NCAA Division I history (since 2007) to have two home runs as part of a five-hit game. He had 13 total bases, eclipsing the previous record of 10 ...  Rinehart leads the team with 5 homers and 11 RBI The team's six homers tied the school DI record ... Vance Sheahan has hit safely in all seven games this season and has a team-leading .440 batting average ... Troy Hamilton has 4 homers and 10 RBI ... Mathieu Curtis leads the Spartans with a 0.82 ERA ...  Jack Cubbler has struck out nine in six innings.

Voorhees (7-8)

Bengal bingles:  Kawan Ellerbe-James leads the Tigers with a 387 batting average ... Joseph Gaines has eight of the team's 38 stolen bases ... Jathan Smith has a 3-1 record and 2.86 ERA. He has thrown two complete games ... Six of the team's 15 starts have resulted in complete games ... Voorhees is one win short of its 2023 season total.

Winthrop (2-6)

Eagle eggstra: Riley Huge's 13-strikeout performance in a Friday win over Toledo moved him into the team lead with 17 ... While his record is 0-2, Reese Lumpkin has a 1.38 ERA and 14 strikeouts in 13 innings ... Parker Whittle has been solid out of the bullpen with a 2.08 ERA in 4 1/3 innings  covering five appearances ... Owen Sarna (1-1, 2.25) got a win on Saturday ... Charlie Evans (.381) and Jaylen Hernandez (.368) are keeping team's batting average above .200 (.203).

Wofford (6-1)

Terrier tappers: Wofford has scored 12 or more runs in six of seven games. The exception was the 4-2 loss to Kennesaw State, when the Owls scored four runs in the ninth ... Wofford hit .433 against Fairleigh Dickinson, raising its season average to .383. Five players are hitting .407 or better, led by Andrew Mannelly (.480), Marshall Toole (.464) and Gunnar Johnson (.455) ... Tool leads the team with 13 runs scored and is 10-for-10 in steals ... The Terriers stole a school single-game record 13 bases on Sunday ... Wofford pitchers have struck out 71 in 63 innings.
