News digest, Feb. 29

State teams get national TV slot

Winthrop's April 6 Big South Conference home game with USC Upstate has been moved to a 6 p.m.  start and will be televised on ESPNU.

Schedules adjusted

* It appears the Benedict at Morris DH originally scheduled for Monday, March 4, has been moved to Tuesday, April 23. Benedict would have been coming off a series at LeMoyne-Owen (Memphis) that ends on Sunday, March 3. That would make for brutal turnaround after a long bus ride.
* USC Union has added a home series for this weekend, facing Cleveland CC for noon Saturday DH and a single game at noon Sunday at the Jonesville Park. A Monday DH with the Limestone JV team has been canceled.
* USC Aiken's home series with Claflin now consists of a 1 p.m. doubleheader on Saturday and a single game at  1 p.m. Sunday.
* Anderson's home series with Emory & Henry will now have a single game at 4 p.m. Saturday and a doubleheader at 1 p.m. Sunday.
* Coker's series at Wingate will feature a 2 p.m. Saturday doubleheader and a 1 p.m. game on Sunday.

Tigers

* Coastal Carolina (Liberty)
Chanticleers

* South Carolina

*USC Upstate (Penn)

I put my new state rankings out every Sunday night. If you're talking about national rankings, usually Monday or Tuesday. Thanks for checking out my website. Rudy

I’ve seen some good things going on at limestone as well as Coker of late if you had to guess is your d2 poll going to move?

As it stands right now I would suspect there will be some adjustments behind North Greenville. Newberry has struggled, Erskine has faltered a little and, like you said, Coker and Limestone have been doing well. Thanks for helping make my website better with your interaction.
