Briefly: No. 4 Clemson scored 10 runs in the first three innings and coasted to victory in the opener of an ACC doubleheader, but Georgia Tech scored seven runs over the final two innings of the nightcap to gain a split. ... Cole Messina doubled and homered to drive in five runs and South Carolina pitchers struck out 17 as the No. 15 Gamecocks won an SEC series opener at Missouri and took sole possession of third place in the East Division ... Avery Neaves doubled twice, tripled and homered as College of Charleston took the opener of a CAA series ... Daniel Eagen struck out eight in five shutout innings as Presbyterian took the opener of a Big South Conference series at Charleston Southern ... Peyton Carr hit three of High Point's nine home runs as the Panthers took the opener of a Big South Conference doubleheader at USC Upstate. Koby Kropf homered in the fifth straight game for the Spartans, who left the yard five times. Carr homered again in the nightcap, but the Spartans rallied from an early deficit to get a split. Upstate has a half-game lead over the Panthers, but trails by percentage points ... UNCG scored six runs in the eighth inning to take the opener of a Southern Conference series at The Citadel ... Gardner-Webb scored four runs in the eighth to overtake Wofford in the opener of a series ... Southern Mississippi scored two runs in the fifth in the Sun Belt Conference Series opener and sent Coastal Carolina to its sixth straight loss.

Conference Carolinas Tournament
* North Greenville 13, Emmanuel 10, 10 innings
- Landon Peavey drew a bases-loaded walk in the 10th and David Lewis added a two-run single as the Crusaders survived an elimination game. Lewis also doubled and homered and drove in four runs. Bryce Roddey hit for the cycle for North Greenville, which plays again Saturday.
* UNC Pembroke 9, Erskine 3 - The Braves scored eight runs in the first three innings to send the Flying Fleet into a losers bracket game Saturday.

NJCAA Region 10 Tournament
* USC Lancaster 1, USC Sumter 0
- Ron Robinson and Jared Welling combined for a two-hit shutout and Bryce Suber drove in the game's only run in the fourth inning as the Lancers won the first game of the tournament. Jarian Pinckney had both Fire Ants hits and Lukas Arvantides struck out nine in seven innings. Sumter plays in an elimination game at 4:30 p.m. Saturday. 
* Spartanburg Methodist 8, USC Union 0, 7 innings - Owen Austin struck out 11 in 6 1/3 innings and the Pioneers used an eight-run fourth to get their seventh straight win in a game halted because of the eight-run margin/
* Gaston College 13, USC Salkehatchie 0, 5 innings - Evan Vandenbosch pitched a five-inning no-hitter for the Rhinos.
* Florence-Darlington Tech 8, USC Lancaster 1 - The top-seeded Stingers broke a 1-1 tie and closed out with a six-run eighth to stay in the winners bracket. Trenton Burnett struck out 7 in 5 2/3 innings, but left with no decision.

Peach Belt Conference Tournament
* Lander 3, USC Aiken 2, 10 innings
- Ethan Wilder's single to left gave the Bearcats a win in their tournament opener.

South Atlantic Conference Tournament
* Newberry 18, Wingate 6
- The sixth-seeded Wolves had four 4-run innings and upended No. 3 Wingate in a first-round game. Jomar Lugo had three hits and drove in six runs and Jacob LeBron had four hits and four RBI for Newberry.
* Carson-Newman 8, Coker 4 - The Eagles built and early five-run lead over the hosts and sent the Cobras into the losers' bracket.
