Palmetto State Baseball team of the week, Feb. 10-16: Coastal Carolina

Coastal Carolina (3-0 for the week)
(beat St. Joseph's, beat Kansas State, beat Washington)

Kevin Schnall played for and served as an assistant under longtime Chanticleers coach Gary Gilmore, so he had plenty of time to study what makes a successful program.

Three games into his tenure, Schnall has his team doing what Gilmore's squads were renowned for doing: winning.

The Chanticleers completed the first three days of the annual Baseball at the Beach Tournament with a pair of run-rule wins and lots of other gaudy numbers, too.

Coastal hit .322 as team and had five homers, The pitching was strong, too - a 1.17 ERA, 29 strikeouts in 23 innings and a .181 opponents' batting average.

Up next: Kansas State, 3:30 p.m. Monday on the final day of Baseball at the Beach.
