* NCAA Division I: Clemson scored four runs in the first inning and Aiden Knaak struck out 10 in six innings as Clemson (21-2, 3-1) handed Wake Forest (18-5, 6-1) its first ACC loss ... Sebastian Alexander's three-run homer sparked Coastal Carolina (17-5, 4-0) past Troy (16-6, 2-2) in the opener of a Sun Belt Conference series ... Arkansas (21-2, 3-1) scored five runs in the seventh to run-rule South Carolina (17-6, 1-3) in the opener of their SEC series ... All nine Wofford (16-7) batters got at least a hit, a run and an RBI in a run-rule win over Villanova (11-9) ...  Avery Neaves and Ethan Plyler drove in three runs apiece as College of Charleston (13-7, 1-0) run-ruled Elon (8-13, 0-1) to open its Coastal Athletic Association schedule ... Matthew Lively scored from second base on an infield single in the 11th inning as The Citadel (12-11, 1-0) took Game 1 of a Southern Conference series from Mercer (15-8, 0-1) ... Jake Randolph had three hits and drove in three runs as Presbyterian (10-13, 2-2) took the opener of a Big South series over Gardner-Webb (11-12, 1-3) ... USC Upstate (10-11, 1-3) used 22 hits and 13 walks to overwhelm Charleston Southern (12-7, 0-4) in the opener of a Big South Conference series ... Cole Yearsley had three hits and drove in four runs as Winthrop (13-10) topped St. John's (8-12) to open a nonconference series.

* Conference Carolinas: Francis Marion (20-9, 10-6) scored five runs in the seventh and 15 in the eighth to take the series opener over Southern Wesleyan (7-22, 6-10). Charlie Bussey III was 5-for-5 and Will Dorrell and Noah Stout drove in four runs apiece ... Young Harris (19-8, 9-4) scored seven runs in the fifth inning and beat North Greenville (24-7, 10-6) to open their series ... Belmont Abbey (19-10, 10-6)  took the lead in the fourth inning and pulled away from Erskine (14-14, 4-9) in the opener of a series.

* Peach Belt Conference: Jon Davis singled, doubled and homered as USC Beaufort (4-24) snapped a 14-game losing streak by beating Augusta (8-21) in a nonconference game ... North Georgia (19-8, 9-1) used a seven-run fifth to knock Lander (20-8, 8-2) out of a first-place tie ... An error in the ninth inning allowed Columbus State (11-14, 3-7) to hand USC Aiken (13-15, 5-5) its sixth straight loss ... Georgia Southwestern (18-12, 6-4) handed Claflin (5-19-1, 0-10) its 11th straight loss to open the series.

* South Atlantic Conference: Ethan Bonocore's RBI single in the sixth gave Limestone (13-16, 7-9) the lead and the Saints held on to beat Coker (19-9, 8-5) to open their series ... Carson-Newman (21-6, 11-2) overcame an early four-run deficit to take the opener at Anderson (17-11, 6-7) ... No. 14 Catawba (21-7, 12-4) scored seven early runs and run-ruled Newberry (15-14, 5-11).

* Other four-year schools: Conley Burk had three hits and struck out three to get the save in his first pitching appearance of the season as Bob Jones (7-16) won the series opener over Toccoa Falls (11-14). Mackenzie Ritter struck out a school-record 14 batters and the 18 strikeouts as a team also set a school mark ... Mason Turner homered twice and drove in five runs as Columbia International (15-13) topped Carolina University (7-13) ... A passed ball and a bases-loaded walk in the 10th inning allowed Wiley (18-11, 10-3) to snap Voorhees' (12-10, 9-7) six-game winning streak in Game 1 of their HBCUAC series. Keith Copeland allowed two hits in seven shutout innings for the Tigers ... Fort Lauderdale (23-9) scored the game's final 17 runs to take Game 1 and five Eagles reached base after two were out in Game 2 to complete a doubleheader sweep of Spartanburg Methodist (10-18).
