* NCAA Division I: Jacob Jarrell hit two home runs and Clemson (25-4, 5-2) took the lead with two runs in the eighth inning and held on to beat Georgia Tech (21-5, 7-3) in the opener of an ACC series involving ranked teams ... Jacob Morrison struck out 10 in seven innings and Walker Mitchell iced Coastal Carolina's (19-7, 5-2) Sun Belt Conference win over Texas State (11-14, 3-4) with a ninth-inning grand slam ... No. 1 Tennessee (24-2, 6-1) collected five unearned runs in the second inning to top South Carolina (17-10, 1-6) in the opener of an SEC series. Ethan Petry had four hits, including his 51st career home run ... Branton Little pitched a complete game and Wofford (19-8, 1-0) opened its Southern Conference schedule with a run-rule win at The Citadel (14-13, 2-2) ... Kaden Smith's 10th-inning single gave Charleston Southern (13-10, 1-6) a walk-off Big South Conference win over Winthrop (14-13, 2-2) and ended a seven-game losing streak ... Tyrell Williams allowed one earned run over seven innings as Presbyterian (13-14, 5-2) beat UNC Asheville (9-17, 2-5) to open their Big South Conference series ... A 10-run first inning helped USC Upstate (14-11) withstand a nine-run fifth by East Tennessee State (19-6) in the opener of a nonconference series. Preston Lucas had three hits and drove in four runs for the Spartans, who have won six straight ... Campbell (12-13, 3-1) scored the final eight runs to take the CAA series opener at College of Charleston (14-10, 2-2).

* Conference Carolinas: Francis Marion (24-9, 13-6) scored seven runs in the ninth inning to take Game 1 of its series at Shorter (19-12, 8-8) ... Gideon Antle was 5-for-5 with a double, a homer and four RBI as North Greenville (27-8, 12-7) won its series opener over Erskine (16-16, 5-11) ... Barton (21-11, 13-6) broke open a one-run game and cruised past Southern Wesleyan (7-26, 6-13) to open their series. 

* Peach Belt Conference: Caden Crews doubled twice and homered as Lander (22-10, 10-3) took the opener of a  series at USC Aiken (15-17, 6-7) ... Georgia College (18-15, 11-2) got a run-rule win to open its series at Claflin (5-24-1, 0-13) ... Columbus State (14-15, 5-8) took the first game of its series at USC Beaufort (4-25, 1-12) by scoring the game's final 10 runs.

* South Atlantic Conference: Newberry (16-16, 6-13) answered Coker's (20-12, 9-7) 10th-inning run with two of their own for a walk-off win to open their series ... Anderson (18-13, 7-9) scored eight runs in the eighth inning to take charge in its win over Wingate (15-16, 10-9) to open a series ... Adams Faucett and Ben Partridge drove in three runs apiece as Limestone (15-18, 9-10) won a series opener at Mars Hill (10-23, 4-12).

* Other four-year schools: Justin Dawkins and Chance Greene hit home runs as Spartanburg Methodist (13-21, 4-1) beat Carolina University (7-17, 1-3) to open a Continental Athletic Conference series ... St. Andrews (16-10, 8-7) shut out Columbia International (17-14, 6-10) to open an Appalachian Athletic Conference series ... Dillard (17-14, 11-6) won two from Voorhees (13-14, 10-10) to open their HBCUAC series.

* NJCAA Region 10: Hudson Moss homered in the seventh - his fifth hit of the game - to cap USC Sumter's (17-16, 7-9) run-rule win over USC Union (22-10, 8-8). The Fire Ants have won seven straight  ... USC Lancaster (15-18, 8-8) rallied in the eighth and ninth innings to hand USC Salkehatchie (1-31, 1-15) its 20th consecutive loss. Finn McLaughlin's single - his fourth hit of the day - delivered the walk-off win for the Lancers ... Gaston College (27-8-1, 11-5) scored three runs in the sixth and held on to snap Florence Darlington Tech's (27-8, 13-3) 13-game winning streak and pull within two games of the Stingers in the region standings.
