State schedule, March 14-16

*  Clemson (17-1) carries a 15-game winning streak into its Atlantic Coast Conference schedule, with Notre Dame the first rival on the docket this weekend at Doug Kingsmore Stadium.

* South Carolina (15-3) begins Southeastern Conference play with a home series against newcomer Oklahoma. The Gamecocks will have a new Friday starter. Brandon Stone, who had a 1.93 ERA and 23 strikeouts 18 2/3 innings, replaces Matthew Becker, who struggled last week against Morehead State. Gamecocks Paul Mainieri said Stone has "a good repertoire of pitches. He’s got a lot of self-confidence.  He just looks like a guy that could handle the Friday night situation and everything that comes with it.”

* Coastal Carolina (12-5) begins Suin Belt Conference play with a home series against Georgia Southern.

* Big South Conference openers include Presbyterian at Winthrop, Charleston Southern at preseason favorite High Point and Radford at USC Upstate.

* Several teams have adjusted their weekend schedule over weather concerns. More are possible. I'll provide updates as I find them on X at @Palmettobase.
