* NCAA Division I: Josh Paino was 4-for-5 with a double and a homer to drive in four runs as Clemson (14-1) beat Davidson (4-9) in seven innings to move its winning streak to 12. It was the 500th win of Erik Bakich's coaching career ... Wofford (12-3) scored eight runs in the ninth inning and evened its series with Kentucky (11-2) ... Ty Dooley and Blake Barthol homered in a five-run third inning as Coastal Carolina (11-4) evened the series with East Carolina (7-7) ... A.J. Martin was 4-for-4 with a homer and five RBI as Charleston Southern (10-3) beat Elon (6-8) for the second straight day ... A wild pitch gave USC Upstate (7-6) the lead and it held on to even its series with No. 19 Troy (12-3) ... Evan Stone hit a grand slam, but South Carolina (13-3) saw Morehead State (6-7) wipe out most of an 11-run deficit before holding on for a win ... The Citadel (9-6) scored on a fielder's choice in the bottom of the sixth to take Game 1 over Northwestern (6-7), but the Wildcats took the nightcap ... Alabama (16-0) scored nine runs in the second inning en route to a second straight run-rule win over Presbyterian (7-9) ... Appalachian State (7-7) lashed 21 hits to even its series with College of Charleston (8-5) ... Former Furman pitcher Dominic Pianto got a three-inning save as Michigan State (12-2) shut out Winthrop (8-7).

* Conference Carolinas: Thomas Powell homered in both games and drove in eight runs in the doubleheader as North Greenville (20-3, 9-3) swept Emmanuel (8-14, 2-10) ... Francis Marion (17-6, 7-5) got a couple of come-from-behind wins to sweep a series from King (4-18, 2-10) ... Cam Mitchem homered twice as Southern Wesleyan (5-18, 4-8) clinched a series win over Chowan (2-14, 1-8) ... Mount Olive (18-5, 10-2) pushed its winning streak to nine games with a walk-off win in the nightcap against Erskine (11-11, 3-6).

* Peach Belt Conference: Connor Droze homered twice and drove in six runs as Lander (15-6, 4-1) clinched a series win over Augusta (5-18, 2-6) ... Georgia Southwestern (15-7, 4-1) scored four runs over the final three innings to even its series with USC Aiken (12-9, 4-1) ... Georgia College (12-11, 6-0) won twice to wrap up a series sweep of USC Beaufort (3-19, 1-8) ... North Georgia (14-7, 4-1) got a run-rule win over Claflin (5-11-1, 0-5).

 

* South Atlantic Conference: Brayden Owens and Shane Thomas had three hits apiece as Anderson (13-5, 4-3) beat Virginia Wise (16-6, 6-4) ... Jaylen Mack and Gabriel Santiago drove in two runs apiece in Game 2 as Coker (15-8, 5-4) rallied to split a doubleheader with Catawba (16-6, 9-3) ... Limestone (11-12, 6-6) scored six runs in the fourth inning of Game 2 to win a series over Tusculum (6-15, 2-7) ... Lenoir-Rhyne (18-3, 7-2) completed a series sweep of Newberry (12-11, 4-8) with a shutout in the finale.

* Other four-year schools: Conley Burk singled in the go-ahead run in the top of the seventh against Paine (7-3) as Bob Jones (3-13) snapped a 10-game losing streak in the opener, but the Lions took Game 2 ... Both Emory Guilford and Keelen Sloan doubled and homered twice as Voorhees (9-9, 6-6) completed an HBCU Athletic Conference sweep of Philander Smith (1-13, 1-10) ... Cameron Haley's RBI single in the 10th inning of Game 1 gave a Benedict (7-4, 5-4) a walk-off win over Edward Waters (9-9, 6-4). Game 2 was suspended until Sunday because of darkness with Edward Waters up 15-2 in the fifth inning ... Drake Thames pitched a two-hit shutout in Game 2 as Columbia International (12-11, 5-7) split an Appalachian Athletic Conference doubleheader with Truett McConnell (6-15, 3-9) ... Spartanburg Methodist (7-14) scored five runs in the ninth, but St. Andrews (9-6) scored two runs in the bottom of the inning to walk off the opener and snap the Pioneers' five-game winning streak. Game 2 was halted by darkness in the top of the eighth in a 3-3 tie. It will be completed Sunday.

* Region 10: Florence-Darlington Tech (20-7, 7-2) got a pair of run-rule wins over USC Salkehatchie (1-22, 1-8) as Zack Hunt drove in seven runs ... Jon Barschow's three-run homer capped a seven-run first inning that started USC Lancaster (8-12, 4-4) to a run-rule win over USC Sumter (9-12, 3-5) in Game 1, but the Fire Ants took the nightcap behind seven RBI from Hudson Moss ... USC Union (18-2, 6-2) took the opener of a twinbill with Gaston College, but the Rhinos (16-7-1, 4-4) took Game 2 with the aid of a nine-run first inning.
