Briefly: Jarvis Evans pitched 5 2/3 shutout innings and Evan Stone had a two-run single in a four-run seventh inning as South Carolina (26-20) shut out Charleston Southern (24-17) ... Sebastian Alexander drove in three runs and Coastal Carolina (34-11) got six shutout innings from its bullpen in a win at UNC Greensboro ... Winthrop (26-21) hit three home runs as it run-ruled Queens. Chet Bowling and Chazz Grossington drove in five runs apiece ... Pikeville scored the go-ahead run in the bottom of the seventh and held on to beat Columbia International in the opener of the Appalachian Athletic Conference Tournament. Then Rams (28-21) got the potential tying run to third base with one out in the ninth, but the next two batters struck out. CIU will play Bluefield in an elimination game at 9 a.m. Wednesday.
