* NCAA Division I: Florida State (32-9, 13-6) scored a run in the bottom of the 11th to take Game 1 of its ACC series with Clemson (36-11, 13-9). The Tigers wiped out a two-run deficit with three runs in the seventh, and added another run in the eighth to take two-run lead into the ninth. FSU scored twice to force extra innings. Dominic Listi homered in the Clemson 10th, but Max Williams answered in like fashion for the Seminoles in the bottom of the inning. Nathan Cmeyla led off the FSU 11th with a walk and went to second on a sacrifice bunt. Alex Lodise was intentionally walked and Williams followed with a single to left. Listi threw home, but Cmeyla touched home plate just ahead of Jacob Jarrell's tag - it was upheld on video review - to give Florida State the win. Clemson has lost five straight conference games ... Jacob Morrison didn't allow a run in seven innings and Blagen Pado hit a grand slam as Coastal Carolina (35-11, 18-4) run-ruled Appalachian State (21-24, 11-11) to open a Sun Belt Conference series ... Florida (31-16, 9-13) overcame an early three-run deficit to pull away from South Carolina (26-21, 5-17) in an SEC game delayed more than three hours by rain ... T.J. Anderson's squeeze bunt drove in Aryan Patel as the go-ahead run in the eighth inning and The Citadel (24-19, 8-5) held on to beat UNC Greensboro (18-26, 7-6) the opener of a Southern Conference series ... Tyler Bak had three hits and Wofford (26-21, 4-9) snapped a four-game losing streak by taking Game 1 of a SoCon series with Mercer (30-18, 9-7) ... William & Mary (20-25, 13-6) scored a pair of runs in the seventh and took the opener of a Coastal Athletic Association series with College of Charleston (25-19, 8-11) ... USC Upstate (24-22, 11-5) scored two runs in the ninth, but left the bases loaded in losing the opener of a Big South Conference series to Longwood (11-35, 5-14) ... Presbyterian's series opener with High Point was rained out and will be made up as part of a Saturday doubleheader.

* Appalachian Athletic Conference: Barry Eiseman and Jacob Mantooth hit back-to-back homers in the eighth inning and top-seeded Reinhardt eliminated Columbia International (30-22). Eric Doyon drove in all three CIU runs with a two-run single and a home run.

* Conference Carolinas: Charlie Bussey III hit two home runs and drove in five runs for the second straight day as top-seeded Francis Marion (40-12) outlasted UNC Pembroke in an elimination game.  Bussey also had two singles for the Patriots ... Emmanuel (29-24) scored three runs in the eighth inning to pull off its second upset in as many days, sending North Greenville (43-12) into the losers bracket.

* Continental Athletic Conference: Dario Astudillo and Jarian Pinckney drove in three runs apiece as Spartanburg Methodist (20-27) advanced to a second-round game against host Georgia Gwinnett.

* Peach Belt Conference: Lander (38-13) scored three runs in the eighth inning to rally past USC Aiken (22-28) in a first-round game. Coming in after a long rain delay, Jake Larson allowed a run and struck out five in five innings to get the win. 

* South Atlantic Conference: Colt Wilkins pitched a five-hit shutout as Limestone (26-24) topped Coker (29-21) to advance to a Saturday game with Catawba ... Catawba scored four runs in the sixth inning and three in the seventh take a tournament opener over Newberry (25-26).

* Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference: Kenyan Conner had three doubles and drove in three runs as Benedict  (24-17) topped Tuskegee in an elimination game.

* Region 10: Seth Kirby hit a go-ahead three-run homer in the seventh inning as USC Sumter (29-23) rallied past USC Union (28-22). Andrew Buffkin allowed one earned run over eight innings for the win. The Fire Ants face top seed Florence-Darlington Tech on Saturday. Union plays an elimination game. USC Lancaster had a 4-1 lead against USC Salkehatchie in the bottom of the seventh when the games was suspended by rain. It will be completed Saturday.
