* Regular season: Aidan Knaak, Joe Allen and Lucas Mahlstedt combined for a no-hitter as Clemson (39-15, 16-12) took the opener on an ACC series at Pitt (27-24, 10-18). Knaak struck out 12 in 7 1/3 innings before tiring. Allen came in to get out of the eighth, but walked two after getting the first two outs in the ninth. Mahlstedt got the final out on a popup. Jacob Jarrell and Jarren Purify homered for the Tigers. It is the 15th no-hitter in school history and the first since March 18, 2009, against USC Upstate. It also is Clemson's third ACC no-hitter and first since April 17, 1976 against Virginia ... South Carolina (28-26, 6-22) scored two runs in the ninth - the second on a wild pitch to take the opener of an SEC series over No. 1 LSU (40-13, 17-11). K.J. Scobey's one-out homer tied the score. Jace Woita followed with a triple to left. After a hit batsman, an intentional walk and a popup, former Wofford pitcher Zac Cowan uncorked a wild pitch to batter Cayden Gaskin, allowing pinch-runner Dalton Mashore to score ... Coastal Carolina (42-11, 24-4) scored three runs in the ninth and held on to take the Sun Belt Conference series opener at Old Dominion (21-27, 15-13). Ty Barrango delivered the go-ahead hit. The Chanticleers have won 16 straight conference games and 12 straight against all competition ... George Derrick Floyd pitched seven innings and matched his season high with six strikeouts as The Citadel (29-23, 11-8) pulled within two games of SoCon leader East Tennessee State (37-14, 13-6) ... College of Charleston (33-19, 14-11) used a seven-run seventh inning to rally past Hofstra (17-35, 7-18) in the first game of a Coastal Athletic Association series. Avery Neaves' two-run single gave the Cougars the lead for good. CofC has won eight straight ... Jake Armsey and Vance Sheahan had three hits and three RBI apiece as USC Upstate (31-23, 17-5) run-ruled UNC Asheville (15-33, 8-14) in the opener of a Big South Conference series. Amp Phillips and Braden Consaul combined on a two-hit shutout ... Wofford (31-24, 8-12) answered VMI's (26-25, 5-15) four-run eighth with two in the bottom of the inning and held on to clinch a SoCon series win. Tyler Bak singled in the tying run and scored the go-ahead run on Adam Haber's single. Bak and Haber had three hits apiece ... High Point (38-15, 18-4) scored eight straight runs in the middle innings to wipe out a four-run deficit and take the opener of a Big South Conference series at Winthrop (27-27, 11-11), which has lost six straight ... Gardner-Webb (17-34, 6-16) scored a run in the eighth, six in the ninth and another in the 10th to rally past Charleston Southern (26-20, 12-10) in the first game of a Big South Conference series
* NCAA Division II Southeast Regional: Gideon Antle's tie-breaking ninth-inning double drove in three runs and North Greenville (44-13) held on to beat Young Harris (42-13) in the Salisbury bracket. The Trailblazers play host Catawba at 6 p.m. ... Catawba (43-12) scored two runs with two outs in the bottom of the 10th to overtake Lander (42-14). The result snapped the Bearcats' 14-game winning streak and sent them into an elimination game on Friday. Garrett Chun had four hits, including a three-run homer to give Lander a first-inning lead. Grant Sherrod's fourth hit of the game scored Jackson Hoshour in the top of the 10th, but Zach Cowart was thrown out trying to score on the play for the final out. In the bottom of the inning, Dylan Driver tied the game with a two-out double and James Dunlap followed with a single to end the game. Lander faces Young Harris in an elimination game at 3 p.m. Friday.
