* Division I: Beau Hollins' three-run double capped five-run eighth-inning rally for South Carolina (27-26) to overtake Winthrop (27-26). Josh Skowronski had two homers for the Eagles, who for the third straight game were hurt by some shaky defense in the late innings ... Travis Elliott drove in seven runs with a single and two homers as The Citadel (28-23) outslugged Charleston Southern (26-19) ... Alex LaCoste and Ethan Plyler had three hits apiece as College of Charleston (32-19) won its seventh straight game and snapped USC Upstate's (30-23) six-game winning streak ... UCF (28-24) scored seven runs in the first inning and 11 in the sixth to send Presbyterian (17-33) to its 11th straight loss in its regular-season finale.
* NJCAA East District: Florence-Darlington Tech scored three runs in the ninth inning and held on to win the NJCAA East District championship game over Harford CC. The Stingers (51-10) advance to the Junior College World Series in Grand Junction, Colo., later this month.
Down 5-4 entering the ninth, Tristan Strickland led off with a single and Tanner Beckley followed with go-ahead home run. Jackson Cionek reached on an error, moved to second on Diego Garcia's sacrifice bunt and scored in a throwing error.
Harford (50-10) got within a run on a two-out single before Mike Joyce struck out the final batter to end the game.
Each team had won a game on Saturday, setting up the decisive game in the best-of-three series.
It will be the Stingers' fourth trip to the NJCAA World Series, with the others coming in 2017, 2021 and 2024.
