No. 14 Coastal Carolina (38-11) scored twice in the fifth inning to take the lead and held on to beat No. 9 Clemson (37-13) in front of a record crowd of 5,300 at Springs Brooks Stadium.
The Chanticleers, who have won eight straight games, took a 2-0 lead in the first inning on a balk and a sacrifice fly by Blagen Pado.

* Region 10: Florence-Darlington Tech got 15 hits and stole 10 bases to beat Gaston College and win the tournament championship. Patrick Evans had four singles, stole three bases and drove in five runs. for FD Tech. It was Tech's second straight Region 10 title and fourth in the past five years. The Stingers play host to Harford in the East District Tournament this weekend. The winner advances to the NJCAA World Series in Grand Junction, Colo.
* NCCAA South Regional: Top-seeded Fort Lauderdale held off a late comeback attempt to beat Bob Jones (11-28). Earlier in the day, Bob Jones scored five runs in the eighth inning - capped by Angelo Gomez's two-run homer - to beat Southeastern Baptist in the completion of a game suspended by rain on Monday. The Bruins play Southeastern Baptist again Wednesday at 11 a.m.
