Player of the day: Torian Bunkley, Claflin, walk-off 3-run PH HR to end 24-game losing streak
* NCAA Division I: No. 14 Coastal Carolina (23-8, 11-1 Sun Belt) turned a hit batsman, a stolen base and a throwing error on a bunt into the tying run and went on to nab its 16th comeback win of the season for a walk-off series victory over South Alabama (19-13, 6-6). Rex Watson was hit by a pitch to open the ninth inning and then stole second. Blagen Pado's bunt was fielded and thrown away at third, allowing Watson to score. Brice Estep later singled over shortstop to drive in Pado ... No. 2 Texas (26-5, 9-3) scored two first-inning runs and handcuffed South Carolina (15-18, 2-10) on two hits to win the series. Talmadge LeCroy's homer provided USC's run. Both teams struck out 15 times ... Stanford (14-14, 4-7 ACC) scored four runs in the eighth to even its series with Clemson (20-12, 3-8). The Tigers scored two runs in the seventh and Luke Gaffney hit a two-run homer in the eighth to give Clemson at three-run lead. After Stanford's rally, Tyler Lichtenberger led off the Tigers' ninth with a double - his third hit of the day -, but was stranded at third to end the game. Clemson starter Michael Sharman allowed four hits and a run while striking out six in seven innings ... College of Charleston (12-19) scored an unearned run for a walk-off win over High Point (21-10) to snap the Panthers' 11-game winning streak ... Charleston Southern (20-10, 5-4 Big South) completed a sweep of Presbyterian (6-27, 2-7) by winning another slugfest. Matthew Rollison hit three homers and drove in seven runs for PC ... Hunter Herndon's two-run homer in the ninth inning sent the game to extra innings, but VMI (23-8, 2-4 SoCon) got a walk-off RBI single from Seth Buchanan in the 10th and handed Wofford (21-11, 5-1) its first conference loss. Ben Timblin drove in five runs for the Terriers for the second straight day ... USC Union transfer Trent Turner singled and hit a three-run homer and Western Carolina (20-13) held off a ninth-inning comeback by Winthrop (22-10) to take the series ... Longwood (19-13) broke a scoreless with a three-run seventh and held on to avoid being swept by The Citadel (14-16) ... * Conference Carolinas: North Greenville (32-7, 20-4) got a pair of extra-inning walk-off wins to move past Young Harris (28-10, 19-5) and into first place. Jan Pospisil hit a sacrifice fly in the ninth to win the opener, while pinch-hitter Joe Cash singled in Lane McGaha in the 11th inning of the nightcap ... Jimmy Koza's two-run single gave Francis Marion (30-8, 19-5) the lead in the third inning of Game 2 and the Patriots gained a split with UNC Pembroke (25-11, 16-8) to claim the series ... Shorter (12-22, 4-20) answered Erskine's (20-20, 14-10) four-run eighth with five runs in the bottom of the inning in Game 1 for a walk-off win to snap the Flying Fleet's seven-game winning streak, but Erskine came back to win the nightcap and claim the series ... Southern Wesleyan (14-25, 8-16) had another big offensive day completing a series sweep at Chowan (3-26, 3-21). The Warriors had 57 hits in three games.
* Peach Belt Conference: Torian Bunkley's three-run pinch-hit home run gave Claflin (4-26, 1-20) a walk-off win Over USC Beaufort (10-26, 4-20) in Game 2 and snapped the Panthers' 24-game losing streak. The Panthers built a 5-1 lead in the seventh, but the Sand Sharks scored two runs in the eighth and four in the ninth for a 7-5 lead. That set the stage for Bunkley's dramatic blast, which set off a raucous celebration at Mirmow Field. It was Claflin's first win since Feb. 8, when it swept a doubleheader at Clark Atlanta, and the Panthers' first home win this season ... Oliver Zohn hit three solo home runs as Lander (22-16, 15-9) took the final game of a home series with USC Aiken (26-12, 14-7).
* South Atlantic Conference: Both teams were limited to three hits, but Jomar Lugo doubled in two runs in the second inning of Game 2 and Newberry (22-16, 16-8) completed a doubleheader sweep of Lenoir-Rhyne (26-8-1, 16-7-1) to take the series. Cayden Hansen came in after a weather delay and closed out with three hitless innings ... Luke Alford and Matthew Lipcsey drove in four runs apiece as Coker (10-26, 8-16) took the final game of a series at Emory & Henry (10-25, 6-18) ... Catawba (28-7, 20-4) bounced back from Friday's loss to sweep Anderson (18-19, 6-18).
* NJCAA Region 10: Four of Pat Costin's five hits were doubles as Florence-Darlington Tech (36-8, 16-5) took the third game at USC Lancaster (20-19, 7-13) ... Robbie Murphy had three hits and drove in four runs as USC Union (25-16, 8-12) wrapped up a sweep of USC Salkehatchie (3-38, 1-19) ... Gaston College (38-3, 18-3) completed a road sweep of USC Sumter (23-14, 11-9).
