James Madison schedule includes games at CofC, Clemson
James Madion has announced its 2014 baseball schedule. Included is a three-game series at new Colonial Athletic Association member College of Charleston. Also included are two games at Clemson and a meeting with UNLV, also at Clemson.

Baseball not returning to Olympics soon
Baseball will not be returning to the Olympics for the 2020 games in Japan. The International Olympic Committee voted instead to reinstate wrestling, with baseball finishing second. The only time I've been interested in the Olympics since I was a teen was the 1980 Miracle on Ice. It would have been nice to get baseball back, but that wouldn't make the Olympics must-see TV for me.

USC Lancaster has named Brookland-Cayce graduate Patrick Burt its player of the week and Strom Thurmond product Grant Rutland its pitcher of the week for the second week of fall workouts.

USC Sumter has announced the fall portion of its schedule. Tim Medlin is entering his first season as coach of the Fire Ants.
