Ron Aiken of GamecockCentral.com reports Kyle Martin has impressed South Carolina's coaches with his pitching during fall workouts. Martin, expected to be the Gamecocks' first baseman, is from Greenville's Wade Hampton High.

Cobras list schedule
I haven't seen a release, but Coker has posted its 2014 schedule. The Cobras have 10 games against other state schools. I have no idea if there is an underlying reason, but (relatively) nearby Francis Marion is not on the Coker schedule for the third straight season. Granted, the NCAA Division II schools are in different conference, but the campus are less than 35 miles apart.

Sorry I didn't see this earlier in order to make folks aware beforehand, but I didn't check school Websites for a few days. Charleston Southern held its Blue and Gold World Series last weekend as part of fall practice.
