Clemson sets exhibition game against Canadian team
Clemson will play College LaFleche from Quebec, Canada, in an exhibition game at Greenville's Fluor Field Oct. 17. First pitch is at 5:30 p.m. I don't believe this counts against Clemson's 56-game regular-season schedule.

Mariners claim Witherspoon
Sumter native and former Spartanburg Methodist star Travis Witherspoon has been claimed by the Seattle Mariners on waivers from the Los Angles Angels. Witherspoon hit .214 with 11 homers, 38 RBIs and 30 steals at AA Arkansas.
