USC Upstate has been picked to finish eighth in the Atlantic Sun Conference baseball standings in 2014 in a preseason poll of league coaches. Mercer was picked to win the league title.
Chad Sobotka of USC Upstate was the coaches' pick for pitcher of the year and also made the preseason all-conference team.
