Parker Chavers homered in the ninth inning to lift Coastal Carolina (23-11-1) to a 7-6 win at N.C. State (29-5) Wednesday night in Raleigh.
The Chanticleers had leads of 1-0, 3-2, and 5-4 before former USC Lancaster star Evans Edwards homered to put the Wolfpack up, 6-5, in the sixth inning.
In the Coastal ninth, Kieton Rivers drew a one-out walk and was replaced by pinch-runner Morgan Hyde. N.C. State brought in reliever Kent Klyman, and Chavers greeted him with a homer well over the right-field fence at Doak Field.
Matt Eardensohn struck out all three batters he faced in the Wolfpack ninth.
Rivers, Jake Wright and Zach Biermann also homered for Coastal.

* Presbyterian scored two runs in the 10th and right fielder Nick Guimbarda threw out a Wofford runner at home to end the game as the Blue Hose got their third one-run victory over the Terriers this season. PC had a 5-3 lead. but Wofford scored in the eighth and ninth innings to tie the score. The fifth run came on a two-out bloop that landed among four oncoming Blue Hose fielders.
Jimmy Marcelli and Jonathan White had run-scoring hits in the Blue Hose 10th, but Wofford scored a run on a wild pitch and had the bases loaded and a 3-0 count on the batter with none out in the bottom of the inning. After a strikeout, Brett Rodriguez lofted a fly ball to medium right field. Guimbarda caught the ball and threw home in time to get Matty Brown the end the game.
* Jacob Hennessy and Brooks Crawford combined on a two-hit shutout as Clemson won its second pitchers' duel over Furman this season.
Bo Majowski had two hits for the Tigers, who totaled six hits and scored single runs in the fifth and eighth innings.
Clemson beat Furman, 3-1, at Fluor Field earlier this season. The Tigers outhit the Paladins 6-4 in that game.
