Palmetto State Baseball co-teams of the week, April 24-30: Bob Jones, Voorhees

Bob Jones

 Voorhees

Bob Jones (1-0)
(beat Brevard)

Voorhees (1-0)
(beat Morris)

One of the good things about Palmetto State Baseball being a one-man operation is I get to make the rules. So, you're going to have to indulge me. If you don't like it, you can start a website.

Yeah, I could have picked either Newberry or North Greenville this week. Clemson, Lander and Wofford also had great weeks.

But I went in another direction.

Bob Jones hadn't won since March 14 before its 10-6 win over Brevard in its season finale on Tuesday. It snapped an 11-game losing streak for the Bruins and gave them a 4-25 season record in their third season. That was down from a season ago, but they had 11 games canceled this season.

Until Voorhees beat Morris on Saturday, it hadn't won since March 21. A loss, a tie and 11 more losses gave the Tigers a 13-game winless streak. They finished the year 5-24-1.

There weren't a lot of high points on the field for either team this season. I wanted to give them a little atta boy for finishing on a good note.
