Palmetto State Baseball team of the week, March 27-April 2: Coastal Carolina

Coastal Carolina (4-0 for the week)
(beat North Carolina; went 3-0 at Georgia State)

It was quite a week for the Chanticleers. They showed up in  couple of national rankings for the first time this season, and they did nothing to hurt their chances of  being more prominent in the ratings after three come-from-behind wins in a 4-0 week.

Coach Gary Gilmore's squad erupted for eight runs in the eighth inning to top No. 13 North Carolina, 12-7, on Tuesday.

The Chanticleers never trailed in a 16-7 win over Georgia State on Friday, but gave their fans some late thrills en route to a series sweep. Georgia State led 8-0 after three innings on Saturday, but Coastal took the lead with a six-run sixth and won, 10-8.

Coastal trailed 6-3 headed to the ninth, but scored three runs to force extra innings and won the game with two runs in the 10th.

Up next for the Chanticleers:  at Clemson, Tuesday
