* Bene-feats: The Tigers are 147-for-179 in stolen bases ... Frankey Moree has gone 9-for-15 with 2 doubles, a homer, 4 runs scored and 7 driven in during a four-game hitting streak ... Jacob Hall is 7-for-14 during his four-game hitting streak.

Bob Jones

* Bru-insights: Leading hitter Riley Ramsey didn't play in the weekend series win at Trinity Baptist. A check of video indicates Ramsey may have been injured while running the bases in the first inning of last Tuesday's game against Montreat. After sliding into second base on a double play, Riley got up, hobbled a few steps and then stopped and left the game. He is hitting .430 ... Sam Gonzalez was 7-for-11 and scored six runs at Trinity Baptist ... Joshua Legnard got his fifth complete game in his last six starts on Saturday. He has 71 strikeouts in 61 innings and his 3.25 ERA is by far best on the staff. Oddly, his five complete games were seven innings while he pitched eight inning in the only game he didn't finish in his recent stretch.

Charleston Southern 

* Buc blasts: Chandler Tuopo's homer in the opener of the USC Upstate series was his 10th of the season ... Evan Truitt has struck out 42 batters and walked 11 ... Sam Massey has struck out 35 and walked nine.

Claflin

* Claf-lines:  Leading hitter Kobe Miller went 0-for-11 against Lander, ending a streak of reaching base at 16 games. The only time he reached base against Lander was on a fielder's choice in the ninth inning of Game 2 ...The Panthers are in line for a second consecutive one-win season. They are 1-41 with a weekend series at Columbus State remaining. The only win came in the second game of a doubleheader on opening day ... Opponents are scoring more than 15.4 runs per game.

Clemson

* Tiger tales: Outfielder Will Taylor is expected to miss the rest of the regular season as he recovers from a broken bone in his left wrist. Taylor suffered the injury while diving in an attempt to catch a foul ball in the April 14 game with N.C. State. Coach Erik Bakich said Taylor may be able to return in late May, meaning the ACC Tournament and NCAA playoffs could be possibilities. The Tigers lost shortstop Andrew Ciufo for the season earlier this month because of an injury ... Saturday's win over Pitt was Clemson's 900th ACC regular-season victory .) Jimmy Obertop hit three home runs in the win, tying the school record shared by 17 others. Taylor and Blake Wright went deep three times in a game earlier this season. Obertop also homered twice on Friday.

Coastal Carolina

* Chanti-sphere: Winning two of three against Louisiana pulled Coastal within four games of the Ragin' Cajuns in the Sun Belt Conference with 12 games remaining. The Chanticleers share second place with Southern Mississippi and Troy, which is coached by former USC assistant Skylar Meade ... Sam Antonacci had a 19-game hitting streak snapped Friday night, but he went 5-for-8 in the final two games ... Blake Barthol hasn't homered since March 30, but still shares the team lead (14) with Zack Beach. Barthol was 6-for-12 with 6 RBI against Louisiana ... Saturday's two-homer game was Graham Brown's second of the season.

Coker

* Snake strikes: The doubleheader loss at Catawba on Saturday marked the first back-to-back losses for the Cobras since March 19 and 23 ... Cameron Ferrell had five hits over the weekend ... Jaylen Mack took the team lead with his third homer.

College of Charleston

* Cougar curves: The Cougars are No. 2 in NCAA Division I in shutouts thrown (6) and No. 3 in staff earned run average (3.48) ... Avery Neaves hit three homers last week ... Kevin Madden had a streak of homering in three consecutive games snapped on Saturday ... Will Baumhofer has a five-game hitting streak ... Luke Wood has a seven-game hitting streak, during which he has scored 10 runs.

* Fleet filberts: Josean Sanchez extended his hitting streak to 10 with two hits on Monday. He is 18-for-38 during the streak, raising his batting average to .410 ... David Hernandez has hit three homers and driven in eight during a five-game hitting streak ... Alex Heintz has struck out six or more batters in 10 of his 12 starts and has 87 strikeouts in 63 2/3 innings ... Ryan Cole had pitched 5 1/3 innings and struck out 3 in seven relief appearances before fanning nine in a six-inning start on Monday.

Florence-Darlington Tech
* Stinger zingers: Rom Kellis hit his 14th homer of the season in Monday's final Region 10 game at Gaston College. He has driven in 65 runs and leads the Stingers with a .408 batting average. He has struck out 13 times in 179 plate appearances ... Coach Preston McDonald been winning while getting lots of players at-bats. Seventeen players have more than 60 plate appearances ... Stingers pitchers have struck out 383 batters in 362 innings.

Francis Marion

* Patriot-ics: Zack Summerville was 5-for-12 with a homer and six RBI against Southern Wesleyan. Peyton Wilson was 6-for-14 with a homer and six RBI ... Before being swept at Central over the weekend, Francis Marion had won 19 of 21 previous meetings with Southern Wesleyan ... Noah Stout's two homers last week gave him eight for the season.

Lander

* Lander liners: Ethan Wilder went 6-for-12 last week as he extended his hitting streak to 20 games ... Taichi Nakao had his hitting streak snapped at 14 ... Ross McCurley was 7-for-14 with 6 RBI last week as Lander extended its winning streak to 14 games ... Bennett Nance has struck out 45 batters while walking 12 and Jake Larson has struck out 41 batters while walking 8 ... There has been no official announcement, but I believe the Bearcats have clinched the top seed for the Peach Belt Conference tournament. Lander is three games ahead of Georgia College and North Georgia with three game conference games remaining, and has the head-to-head tiebreaker on both schools.

Limestone

* Halo happenings: Noah Love was 8-for-14 with 4 doubles, 2 homers, 6 runs scored and 4 RBI at Virginia Wise ... Gavin Troyer doubled twice week, giving him 12 for the season, He also hit his first triple ... Marty Neal has struck out 60 in 42 2/3 innings.

Morris

* Hornet heaters: Jeremy Roberts (3 hits), James Paul (2) and Daniel Roberts (2) combined for all seven Morris hits in last week's game with Savannah State. Paul has hit safely in six of his last seven games.

Newberry

* Wolf howls: Donovan Ford's hitting streak is at 25 games. He had two or more hits in 18 of those games ... Jesse Free was 4-for-10 with 5 RBI against Lincoln Memorial ... Matias Marchesini has struck out 33 while walking 13. Brayden Gibson has struck out 29 while walking 9.

North Greenville 

* Crusader capers: Pat Monteith was 7-for-11 with 2 homers and 8 RBI in the sweep of Chowan ... David Lewis was 7-for-10 against Chowan with 2 homers and 9 RBI ... The Crusaders have out-tripled opponents, 15-0 ... Reece Fields has 83 strikeouts against 15 walks in 71 innings ... Nate Roof has allowed one run while striking out 20 in 11 2/3 innings covering his last eight appearances.

Presbyterian

* Kilt kernels: Joel Dragoo has a 14-game hitting streak ... The Blue Hose entered last weekend tied for the Big South Conference lead with USC Upstate, but being swept at High Point dropped PC two games being the Spartans and one behind the Panthers ... PC was outscored 62-19 in four losses last week ... Jackson Hugus was 5-for-9 at High Point and is 9-for-15 in his last six games ... Daniel Eagen has struck out 80 and walked 16 in 46 1/3 innings. Charlie McDaniel has 62 strikeouts and 16 w toalks in 62 innings and third weekend starter Fenix DiGiacomo has 57 strikeouts and 15 walks in 53  2/3 innings.

* Southern cooking: The Warriors' three-game sweep of Francis Marion constitutes their longest winning streak of the season. They hit .418 for the series ... Cam Mitchem was 7-for-11 against the Patriots with 2 doubles, 3 homers, 7 runs and 7 RBI. Mitchem is on a 10-game hitting streak, raising his batting average to .336, and has hit safely in 27 of his last 28 games ... Jarrett Whitley is 10-for-23 during a five-game hitting streak ... Blayze Haddock is 11-for-25 with 2 homers and 8 RBI during a six-game hitting streak ... Gage Shaver has a seven-game hitting streak (10-for-26) ...

Spartanburg Methodist

* Pioneer pearls: Blake Martin, who was sidelined for more than a month, is 10-for-16 during a five-game hitting streak ... SMC has won its last five games since losing five consecutive Region 10 contests. Three of the wins have been by shutout and the Pioneers have outscored opponents 40-6. Eleven of Spartanburg's 37 wins have been shutouts ... Pitchers are striking out 10.54 batters per nine innings

South Carolina

* Fowl Fare: USC didn't homer in the weekend series with Arkansas. A USC spokesman said it is believed the last time the Gamecocks didn't go yard in an SEC series was May 18-20, 2017 against Georgia. That means USC had hit at least one homer in 27 consecutive SEC home series ... Ethan Petry went 0-for-12 in the Arkansas series, dropping his batting average to .296 ... Gamecocks batters have struck out 406 times compared to 395 by opponents ... Carolina still leads Division I with 281 walks ... Outfielder Austin Brinling wasn't on the travel squad for the Florida series the previous week, but he started all three games against the Hogs, going 4-for-10 with three walks ... Shortstop Will Tippett sat out the final two games of the series after being hit in the helmet while trying to bunt on Friday. Freshman Lee Ellis replaced him, going 3-for-6 with two doubles and two walks.

The Citadel

* Bulldog bulletins:  Friday's win at VMI was the Bulldogs' first Southern Conference win of the season. Sam Swygert pitched a season-high 7 2/3 innings and struck out seven ... The Citadel has hit 16 of its 64 doubles in the last seven games ... There has been not an intentional walk in a game involving the Bulldogs this season ... Wells Sykes went 0-for-5 in the finale at VMI, ending his six-game hitting streak ... Sawyer Reeves was 7-for-18 in four games last week.

USC Aiken

* Pacer patter: Capers Molinaroli has raised his batting average to. 362 by going 11-for-21 during a five-game hitting streak ... Even though they lost two of three games, the Pacers batted .348 during the North Georgia series ... Josh Sharp has a six-game hitting streak (11-for-24). Brock Myers (10-for-27) also has a six-game streak.

USC Beaufort

* Shark bites: Brian Meyer has increased his batting average to .314 by going 11-for-19 during a five-game hitting streak. He hit .361 as a freshman, .346 as a sophomore and .342 as a junior,  but has struggled to match his previous success this season ... Julian Galassi has a six-game hitting streak (11-for-22) ... Josh Patterson hasn't allowed a home run in 41 1/3 innings ... Brandon Martin has 48 strikeouts compared to 16 walks

USC Lancaster 

* Lancer lots: Joe Sperry has 16 doubles, 19 homers, 79 RBI and a.840 slugging percentage. He is batting .408 ... Eddie Olmeda leads the Lancers with a .470 batting average. I somehow missed a win over Southeastern on April 9, when Olmeda went 5-for-5 ... Walker Sowell was 6-for-12 in the USC Union series ... Luke Garabedian has a seven-game hitting streak.

USC Salkehatchie

* Indian Items: Tyler Levy's complete game on Monday was the Indians' second of the season. He has had more action at shortstop than at pitcher this season. 

USC Sumter

* Ant items: Luke Arvantides has struck out 43 and walked 22 in 51 innings ... The Fire Ants committed eight errors on Monday, giving them 77 in 50 games.

USC Union

* Bantam bits: Monday's win over USC Lancaster was a school-record 22nd of the season ... Brayden Corn had homered in three straight region game before being kept in the park on Monday.  He leads the team in doubles (12), homers (9), RBI (37) and batting average (.379)  and has stolen 26 bases in 27 attempts ... Andrew Laperle's three-run walk-off homer in Game 2 Monday was his second homer of the season.

USC Upstate

* Uppercuts: The Spartans have hit 76 home runs, tied with Duke and North Carolina for 11th nationally. That matches the program record. Also, Noah Sullivan has matched Upstate's DI-era  record for homers in a season with 15. Four of Sullivan's teammates have hit 10 or more homers ... Jace Rinehart has raised his batting average to .390 by going 11-for-23 during a five-game hitting streak ... Koby Kropf was 8-for-16 with 3 homers and 11 RBI in four games last week ... Sullivan and fellow weekend starters Henry Proger and Mathieu Curtis have combined for 124 strikeouts while allowing 43 walks in 161 2/3 innings.

Voorhees

* Bengal bingles: A 13-0 loss to the Georgia Gwinnett Grizzlies on Saturday may not seem worth mention, but it looks pretty impressive when compared to other scores. The Grizzlies, ranked No. 2 nationally in NAIA, played host to the Continental Athletic Conference showdown in Lawrenceville. They won Friday's game over Crowley's Ridge, 34-3, and topped that with a 38-3 dismantling of Florida National on Saturday. So, losing by 13 runs doesn't seem all that bad.

Winthrop

* Eagle eggstra:  Winthrop has been swept in its last three Big South Conference series ... Riley Huge has struck out 20 batters in 17 2/3 innings in his last four starts - all losses - and allowing 21 earned runs He had 71 strikeouts in 37 innings over his first six starts ... Charlie Evans has a five-game hitting streak ... Harrison Wilson has a 10-game hitting streak.

Wofford 

* Terrier tappers: Brice Martinez extended his hitting streak to 23 game by going 8-for-18 in four games last week. He is 43-for-98 during the streak and batting .420 for the season ... Tyler Hare became the first Terrier to reach 10 home runs when he went deep twice last week ... Wofford leads Division I with a .347 team batting average and shares the lead in runs scored (415) with Tennessee. The Terriers have played three fewer games than the Vols ... Zac Cowan got the first team's complete game of the season with a 14-strikeout outing at Mercer on Friday.
