Honorable mention player of the day
* Aidan Knaak, Clemson, 7 IP, 9 K, 6.1 no-hit innings
* Blake Baldwin, USC Union, W, 5.1 IP, 1 R vs. No. 1 Gaston College.

We're just eat up with worthy Game of the Day candidates, and I didn't want to pick one over the others. Listed in alphabetical order by winner.

* Benedict 8, Clark Atlanta 6 - The Tigers overcame n early five-run deficit and scored three runs in the seventh to take the finale of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference series.

* Clemson 13, Notre Dame 12 -  The No. 2 Tigers were two outs away from a run-rule no-hitter by Aidan Knaak before the Fighting Irish forced extra innings, Clemson used two unearned runs in the 11th to complete the ACC series sweep. Knaak, who struck out nine, had an 11-1 lead and a no-hitter one out into the Notre Dame seventh. Conference rules call for games to be stopped if a team is ahead by 10 runs after seven innings. The next three batters singled ending the no-hit bid and cutting the margin to nine. Notre Dame scored four runs in the eighth and five in the ninth to tie the game. Two Fighting Irish errors in the 11th put Clemson ahead by two, and a Tigers error helped Notre Dame get a run in the bottom of the inning before the game ended.

* South Carolina 6, Texas A&M 5  - Matthew Becker struck out eight in four innings, No. 22 South Carolina gave him an early lead and the Gamecocks held on to beat No. 3 Texas A&M and take the final game of the SEC series. Ethan Petry and Kennedy Jones homered for USC and Garrett Gainey recorded a rocky nine-out save.

* USC Lancaster 2, USC Sumter 0, Game 1 - The Lancers scored their runs in the bottom of the sixth and held on to win as Ron Robinson pitched a shutout and struck out eight. The Fire Ants split the day - and series - with a Game 2 win, 8-6.

* USC Union 2, Gaston College 1, Game 2 - For the second straight day, the Bantams rallied from a first-game blowout (14-0) to beat the top-ranked Rhinos in Region 10 play. Mason Elrod singled in Brayden Corn with the go-ahead run in the fifth and Blake Baldwin pitched into the sixth inning to get the win and a 2-2 series split. Gaston College had one region loss entering the weekend.

* USC Upstate 4, Winthrop 0 - Mathieu Curtis and Cooper Ellingsworth combined for a one-hit, 12-strikeout shutout to complete a Big South Conference series sweep.

* Wofford 8, UNC Greensboro 7 - Dixon Black homered hit a walk-off sacrifice fly in the ninth as the Terriers took the rubber game of the Southern Conference series. There were five ties and five lead changes before Black's late heroics.
