Buccaneers promote Kuhn

Charleston Southern has promoted Karl Kuhn to head baseball coach. He was pitching coach under Marc MacMillan the past two seasons and served as interim head coach after MacMillan was let go.

Oxendine returns to Coastal

Former Coastal Carolina player Chad Oxendine has returned to his alma mater to join the staff of new head coach Kevin Schnall.

Oxendine, head coach at Longwood for the last three seasons, will serve as associate head coach and recruiting coordinator for the Chanticleers.

Knaak named top pitcher

Clemson right-hander Aidan Knaak has been named national freshman pitcher of the year by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.

The Fort Myers, Fla., native earned all-Atlantic Coast Conference and freshman all-American honors earlier this season.

He had a 5-1 record with a 3.35 ERA. Knaak struck out 108 and walked 29 in 83 1/3 innings covering 15 starts.

Knaak is the second Clemson player to earn an NCBWA freshman of the year designation, joining 2016  hitter Seth Beer.
