Triplett introduced at The Citadel

The Citadel formerly introduced Russell Triplett as its next baseball coach at a Monday press conference.

Triplett, who moved over from Newberry, is a Midlands native who played at Clemson before a brief pro career.

Triplett told WCIV in Charleston that he is hopeful of arranging games between The Citadel and Clemson at Joe Riley Park in Charleston. Triplett said Jack Leggett, his coach at Clemson, and current Tigers coach Erik Bakich were supportive in his efforts to be hired at The Citadel.

Shepherd coach joining Patriots

Matt McCarty has stepped down as head coach Shepherd College in West Virginia to become hitting coach for new Francis Marion coach Jeff Jefferson.

Bodine at training camp 

Caden Bodine of Coastal Carolina is the only player from a Palmetto State school to be on the training camp roster for the 20245 Collegiate National Team.
