Ex-Tiger Miller returns to La Salle

Former Clemson player David Miller, who was head coach at La Salle when the school disbanded its baseball program after the 2021 season because of financial fallout from the CoVid pandemic, is returning to the school as it reinstates the sport for 2026.

Miller was at Manhattan for the past two seasons, leading the Jaspers to the Meto Atlantic Athletic Conference championship game in 2023.

Miller was on Clemson's 1995 College World Series team and later played professionally.

Jones goes to USC

Winthrop right-handed pitcher Caleb Jones announced Monday on X that he is transferring to South Carolina. A junior from Thurmond High school, Jones had a 1-1 record, a 5.26 ERA, 19 walks and 49 strikeouts in 49 innings in 2024. He had 25 appearances, including two starts. For his career he has a 7.39 ERA and 66 strikeouts and in 67 innings over 34 appearances.
