NCAA Clemson Regional
* Clemson 12, Coastal Carolina 5 - A six-run eighth inning made for a lot less tension for Tigers fans in the ninth as No. 3 Clemson won its first NCAA Regional Championship since 2010.

The Tigers (44-14) will play host to the winner of the Stillwater Regional (Oklahoma State or Florida) next weekend in a best-of-three super regional series to determine one spot in the College World Series.

The loss ended the coaching career of Coastal's Gary Gilmore, who is retiring after this season. He took the Chants to one College World Series title.

Clemson scored early and took a 6-2 lead into the eighth. But Caden Bodine hit a two-run homer and Derek Bender followed with a solo shot to cut the margin to one.

Cam Cannarella led off the Clemson eighth with a homer and the Tigers added five more runs to salt the game away. Jack Crighton singled in a run and Alden Mathes and Jacob Hinderleider had two-run doubles.

Austin Gordon retired all four batters he faced to get the save.

Hinderleider had three hits for Clemson, while Mathes, Cannarella, Crighton and Blake Wright had two apiece.

Bodine, Zack Beach and Sam Antonacci had two hits apiece for Coastal.

* Coastal Carolina 6, High Point 5 -  Earlier Sunday, Caden Bodine's seventh-inning homer erased a short-lived Panthers lead and the Chanticleers held on to advance to Sunday night's regional championship round with Clemson.

Derek Bender gave Coastal a 3-0 lead in the first inning. High Point scored single runs in the second and sixth innings, with the Chanticleers getting a run back in the sixth.

The Panthers scored three runs in the top of the seventh to go up 5-4.

Graham Brown singled to lead off the Coastal seventh and Bodine followed with his decisive blast.

High Point got two runners on in the ninth, but Bryce Shaffer came in to get the final out on a fielder's choice.

NCAA Raleigh Regional
* James Madison 2, South Carolina 0 -
Mike Mancini homered in the first and eighth innings and South Carolina's offense botched the few scoring opportunities it had as the Gamecocks were eliminated.

The Dukes' Donovan Burke struck out seven in 6 2/3 innings of relief to lift James Madison into a game against N.C. State later Sunday.

Gamecocks starter Dylan Eskew allowed Mancini's first homer, but pitched well otherwise.

Meanwhile, a pair of double plays ended a couple of USC threats and poor execution sank another pair.

Talmadge LeCroy led off the USC fifth with a single. Will Tippett bunted in front of the plate and was hit by the throw to first, apparently putting runners on the corners. Instead, a video review resulted in Tippett being called out for running in fair territory, sending LeCroy back to first. Austin Brinling singled, but the next two batters were retired.

Ethan Petry, serving as designated hitter after missing Saturday's game with a hand injury, led off the Carolina sixth with a double and took third on a wild pitch. A groundout and two strikeouts later, Petry was still on third base.

Mancini's second homer, against reliever Tyler Pitzer, capped the scoring.

Dylan Brewer was hit by a pitch to open the ninth, but video review overturned the call and he was ruled out for leaning into the pitch. Two more outs ended USC's season at 37-25.

LSU scored two runs in the second and one in the fourth before Dixon Black's sacrifice fly scored Wofford's sixth run.

The Tiger tied the score in the fifth, then scored two runs in the seventh, three in the eighth and two in the ninth for the final margin.
