Cannarella honored
Clemson outfielder Cam Cannarella recently received the school's Brandon Streeter Award,
given to a student-athlete who has overcome injury or illness to perform at a high level on the field of competition.

As a sophomore, Cannarella hit .337 with 11 homers and 60 RBIs. He was playing with a shoulder injury suffered in the fourth game of the season. His condition prevented him from sliding head-first or stealing bases.
Award namesake Brandon Streeter is a former Clemson quarterback and assistant coach. He now is an offensive analyst at Georgia.
Petry named league MVP
South Carolina outfielder/first baseman Ethan Petry has been named most valuable player of the Cape Cod League. Petry played for Yarmouth-Dennis in the summer collegiate league. He also was named the outstanding pro prospect award.
Petry hit .360 with 11 homers and 25 RBI in 31 games.
