* Brennan Dees, an outfielder who played on South Carolina's NCAA Super Regional teams in 2000 and 2001, died near Montgomery, Ala., Saturday as a result of a one-car accident. He was 46.
* Robert Beary, a member of South Carolina's 2010 national championship team, has been released from a Columbia area hospital after the parked Richland County Sheriff's Department vehicle he was in was struck by a suspected intoxicated driver, according to WLTX-TV in Columbia. Beary is a Richland County deputy and a K-9 handler. He was involved in traffic enforcement when the incident happened. Several years ago, Beary was one of the deputies appearing on the "Live PD" program.
* The family of Claudia Medlin has posted a link to a fundraising page to benefit the Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease Foundation. The wife of former Newberry and USC Sumter coach Tim Medlin died Saturday. Her memorial service is planned for Friday in Fairfax.
* Since the start of the 2025 season, South Carolina is 7-34 against power conference competition and 6-28 against the SEC.
* According to Toccoa Falls' Website, Tuesday's home game with Claflin has been rescheduled to 2 p.m. April 14.
* Spartanburg Methodist's scheduled Tuesday game at Milligan has been pushed back until Wednesday.
* At least four Tuesday games have moved starting times to earlier in the day because of weather (cold temperature) concerns.
