* Briefly: Brandon Stone allowed a run on two hits over six innings and South Carolina (16-19, 3-10 SEC) won the opener of a series at Missouri (20-15, 3-10). Patrick Evans doubled and hit a two-run homer and the other three Gamecocks runs scored with the help of two errors and a wild pitch. Zach Russell pitched the final 2 1/3 innings for the save as Carolina pulled even with the Tigers in the SEC standings. It was USC's first win on an opponent's home field this season ... Morris (8-12) took a shutout into the final inning of Game 2 to earn a split with Florida National (20-16) as Jaylen Halley had two hits and drove in four runs. Halley also had a single, a walk and a run scored as the Hornets had a four-game winning streak snapped in the opener. Dylan Levy doubled for Morris in both games ... USC Aiken (28-12, 15-7 Peach Belt) withstood a couple of late rallies by Augusta (16-22, 11-11) to take the series opener. Donovan Glisson and Evan Harding drove in two runs apiece for the Pacers
