Kellett was primarily an infielder during his playing days at Furman, but had one of the most memorable performances in Paladins baseball history in the 1976 NCAA Regionals.
Facing an elimination game with a depleted pitching staff, Paladins coach Tom Wall gave the ball to Kellett against the University of South Carolina. The senior right-hander responded with a five-hitter as Furman won, 12-1, in Bobby Richardson's final game as USC coach.
