USA beats Venezuela
Team USA avenged its only loss in the World Cup so far, beating Venezuela, 6-3, to open the third round in Italy. Ex-USC star Justin Smoak went hitless, but did walk and score a run. The Americans play Puerto Rico Wednesday in round-robin play.
