Colvin gets hit in ML debut
Former Clemson standout Tyler Colvin joined select company Monday night, making his major league debut with the Chicago Cubs. He went 1-for-3 and drove in a run with a sacrifice fly as the Cubs beat the Brewers.

Team USA beats Australia
Team USA scored a run in the bottom of the ninth to beat Australia, 4-3, and complete a 7-0 run through its pool in the second round of the World Cup in Bologna, Italy. As reported earlier, Justin Smoak hit his ninth home run of the tournament. The Americans play Venezuela today in the opening game of the third round. Venezuela beat team USA, 13-9 in 11 innings, in a first-round game. Smoak is batting .400 (14-for-35) with 19 RBI in nine games.
