Team USA wins
Team USA beat Cuba, 5-3, Thursday in the World Cup in Italy. Ex-USC standout Justin Smoak went 0-4.The Americans play the Netherlands today, then plays Cuba again in the championship game at 9 a.m. Sunday (the schedule originally said 10 a.m). The title game will be aired live on the MLB Network (Charter channel 320 in the Upstate).

    Florida State has released its 2010 schedule. In addition to a visit to Clemson May 20-22 to close the regular season, the Seminoles play host to Charleston Southern April 20-21.

    A three-game home series against South Carolina May 14-16 is on the 2010 Arkansas schedule announced Thursday.

  • USC sets scrimmages
    South Carolina has set the times for its scrimmages -- open to the public -- this weekend. They are 3 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m. Saturday and 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Carolina Stadium.
