Tigers get No. 2 prospect on Baseball America list

Baseball America reports Clemson signed the No. 2 high school prospect in the country in left-handed pitcher Daniel Norris of Science Hill High School in Johnson City, Tenn. (For you trivia buffs, Science Hill is the alma mater of USC football coach Steve Spurrier.)

South Carolina has three signees on the list: No. 23 Taylor Guerrieri, a left-handed pitcher from North Augusta; No. 76 T.J. Coston, a shortstop/outfielder from Virginia Beach, Va., and No. 81 Shon Carson, an outfielder from Lake City.

Also on the list at No. 95 is Dorman third baseman Hunter Cole, a Georgia signee.

Other interesting names: Outfielder Shawon Dunston (No. 59, Vanderbilt), third baseman Dante Bichette (No. 36, Georgia) and outfielder Dwight Smith (No. 30, Georgia Tech) are sons of former major-leaguers. The elder Smith played at Spartanburg Methodist.
