Adam Vrable has been named an assistant coach at Furman. The former Coastal Carolina player will work with the Paladins' base runners, outfielders and hitters.
6 state players on Tino Martinez Award watch list
Six players from state schools - including two apiece from Erskine and Francis Marion - are on the preseason watch list for the Tino Martinez Award, given to the top player in NCAA Division II. John Bolding and Atlee Pearson of Erskine, Don Sandifer and Buddy Sosnoskie of Francis Marion, Drew Provence of North Greenville and Nick Aranas are on the list. Erskine's Bryan Fogle won the inaugural award last season.
