College World Series notes

* If weather doesn't rain out tonight's game with Arkansas (and the forecast is great), South Carolina will become the first team to play two games in the same day at the CWS since Stanford in 1987. Georgia completed a suspended game against Stanford, then played Arkansas.

*This is the first time there have been three CWS games on one day at TD Ameritrade Park. The last time there were three CWS games in one day June 21, 2010, when Clemson's opening-round game against Arizona State was delayed a day because of a rain-plagued game between South Carolina and Oklahoma.

* The USC-Kent State game lastes 2:07, the shortest at a CWS since 20003.

* Counting NCAA regionals and super regionals, USC pitcher Michael Roth has an 8-0 record in 11 NCAA Tournament starts.

* Roth has two career complete games, both in CWS elimination games. The other was against Clemson in 2010.
