Blog poll: Which omission from Clemson's schedule is more surprising?

Which omission from Clemson's 2013 baseball schedule is more surprising, Coastal Carolina or College of Charleston?

My view is it's Coastal of Carolina, because the teams had met in 25 of the past 27 seasons. Coastal Carolina won the lone regular-season meeting with Clemson in 2012, although the Tigers did win a pair of games in the Columbia Regional of the NCAA Tournament.

The 2012 series with College of Charleston marked the first meeting between the schools since 2005. Clemson won two of three meetings, but the Cougars did beat the Tigers for the first time ever in the series finale.

Perhaps Clemson and Coastal Carolina or College of Charleston can hook up for a game or two if there are some rainouts.

Vote your choice in the poll on the right side of this page, then share your reason in the comments section below.

Thanks!

Definitely Coastal because we've been playing them on a regular basis for several years. My guess is it was probably just a scheduling issue. We had to cancel a couple of games the last few years because of scheduling issues on their end. Of course, Jack is always loyal to his former coaches, which means we're going to be playing Winthrop as long as TR is there. That leaves even fewer open dates for teams like Coastal.

Clemson also does not make many long trips midweek. No need to when you've got other teams that want a game and are willing to come to you. This year that includes teams like Winthrop, Wofford, Upstate and PC. It may be that Coastal was tired of making the trip to Clemson.
