USC No. 7 in Baseball America rankings

South Carolina is No. 7 in Baseball America's preseason baseball rankings announced today. The Gamecocks are the only state team in the rankings.

USC finished as national runner-up last year after winning the College World Series in 2010 and 2011. Chad Hobrook has replaced Ray Tanner as coach since last season.

USC is the only state school in the magazine's top 25.

North Carolina is No. 1 in the rankings, followed by Vanderbilt, Arkansas, Louisville and Mississippi State.

There are four ACC teams and eight SEC teams in the rankings. That doesn't include future member Louisville.
