Dissa and Data, Feb. 15

* I was at Furman's practice Tuesday to shoot some video with Paladins coach Ron Smith. Furman is opening its season with three game at Fluor Field, and Smith told the players they would be car-pooling to downtown Greenville. One player asked "Can the outfielders take a limo?"

* Clemson coach Jack Leggett said he likes the approach several players take to playing the game. He mentioned Tyler Slaton as someone who brings an extra something to practice, and that Slaton's absence from practice was noticeable one day.

* Seeing stadiums with major-league caliber infields like at Clemson and USC can spoil a person's perspective of how other teams operate. At many, many, schools, the coaches and players serve as grounds crew. Above, I've posted video of Furman coach Ron Smith dragging the infield after Tuesday's practice. Below is some video of Benedict's new home stadium near Charlie Johnson (football) Stadium off Two Notch Road in Columbia.
