Seven on DII watch list
Seven players from state schools  are on the initial watch list for the 2013 Tino Martinez Award, given annually to the top player in NCAA Division II baseball.

State players are  pitchers Spencer Jordan and Jeffrey Stone of Francis Marion, catcher Josh Miller and outfielder Will Tankersley of USC Aiken, first baseman David Weber of Benedict, pitcher Heath Gray of Erskine and utility player Patrick Grady of Lander.

However, Tankersley isn't on the active roster  because of eligibility issues, so he may be removed from the watch list.

Also on the list is UNC Pembroke pitcher Ethan Carter. Carter formerly was at South Carolina but transferred after being dismissed from the program.  After a stint at a two-year school, Carter rejoined the program and was suspended or dismissed again after an off-field incident. Based on a reader's comments on a previous post, I probably shouldn't mention Carter and Carter should be removed from the watch list since he hasn't led a mistake-free life.
