Charleston Southern has posted series information for this weekend's games against Eastern Kentucky.

SEC previewed has posted its Southeastern Conference preview. Vanderbilt and Arkansas are listed as the teams to beat, according to a survey of league coaches.  USC's Grayson Greiner is listed as being the best defensive catcher and having the best catcher's arm. Shortstop Joey Pankake is listed as having the best infielder's arm.

CollegeBaseballInsider also posted its Southern Conference preview based on league coaches. Elon is listed as the team. to beat. Former Riverside High star Matt Pegler of College of Charleston is tabbed among the top starting pitchers and as the pitcher you'd least want to face. Brandon Yarusi of Wofford is listed as the most underrated pitcher. Former Eastside star Will Calloway of Appalachian State is listed as having the best infield arm and being one of the best defensive infielders, one of the best pure hitters and one of the hitters you'd least want to face. CofC's Brandon Murray is ranked among the top power hitters.

The Atlantic Sun Conference has posted a preview of its opening weekend series. USC Upstate plays three opponents in as many days.

Golden Spikes watch list named

The 50-player preseason watch list for the Golden Spikes Award, given to the top player in college baseball, has been announced. No state schools are represented on the list - which is revised during the season. There are 12 SEC players and 5 ACC players on the list.
